@KRHornberger Nice story. It reminded me my experience with dichloroketene generation. It requires distillations of POCl3 and CCl3COCl before use, but the [2+2] worked only for the first time, not in the second or third repeats. Fortunately, I found a paper using sonication and it worked well.
#NASmember David W.C. MacMillan of @Princeton receives the Nobel Prize in #Chemistry for “the development of asymmetric organocatalysis,” a precise new tool for molecular construction. MacMillan shares the prize with Benjamin List.
Here are the #Omicron#SARSCoV2 mutations in each gene and the drugs, candidates, & vaccines that target them. The 3CL protease and RNA polymerase have only 1 mutation each (unlike spike, which has >30); the drug candidates targeting them might be more likely to retain efficacy.
BREAKING NEWS:
The 2021 #NobelPrize in Chemistry has been awarded to Benjamin List and David W.C. MacMillan “for the development of asymmetric organocatalysis.”
@J_A_C_S@karen_wooley Agree. Longer Communications can be split back to back like before. It is important to publish preliminary interesting findings from the labs with limited resources to make large tables.
