@FromPhDtoLife I always find it confusing when people make generic claims about women wanting to have children. Personally, I always wanted to have children, but I never assumed that that necessarily meant every other woman did, too. How on earth would one possibly know?
Did you leave a PhD program and then enroll in a different, better-for-you one? Or switch advisors? I know lots do. Stories requested. Asking for a follower in a less than ideal situation.

Don't discount jobs in businesses, and don't assume nonprofits are morally righteous. I say this to my fellow humanities PhDs, esp. We can draw incorrect conclusions based on little knowledge and faulty assumptions. To our own detriment.
@Tyler_Saumur@AcademicChatter@uhntrainees It actually concerns me more when academics address me as Ms, despite holding a PhD, because I am not institutionally affiliated. Somehow, then, it's fine for the PhD not to count.
