WATCH: Britain’s ITN has released ~4 hours of previously sealed 1989 Tiananmen footage — filmed by the team that smuggled the tapes out of China.

The material, archived for ~35 years, includes a 2-hour crackdown compilation and 90 minutes of secretly filmed raw rushes from the days after, showing military trucks on Beijing streets, crowds, and the aftermath.

Crazy how people like spicholas faggot and your typical accelerationist wants Hitler 2.0 to return and commit mass genocide but then gets squeamish on executing an obviously guilty mass murderer

Israeli settlements' built-up area in Area C is about 80 km² (roughly 2.4% of Area C's ~3,500 km²), per 2023 aerial analyses including outposts, industry and bases.

Illegal Palestinian construction covers a larger built-up footprint of around 148 km² (about 4.4%), based on the same monitoring and Regavim surveys of tens of thousands of unauthorized structures.

Jurisdiction areas for settlements are larger; most Palestinian building in Area C lacks Israeli permits.

As a linguistics guy this clip has been on replay in my head for ages. The Aboriginals are capable of comprehending numbers if they learn them in childhood but this may be the most fascinating peek ever into how firmly constrained cognitive capacities are by language acquisition.

Sometimes I think a lot of the psychology behind the right-wing turn on Israel is just envy that they have confidence in themselves and their civilization, something we seem to have lost. Ironic twist is that the more you chase the JQ dragon, the more you seem to fall into Chomskyite moral inversions and doubts about our own country, and the further away the object of your envy gets.

The most nationalist of nationalist French leaders, Napoleon, is the one who gave Jews civil rights.

Colonel de La Roque, leader of the French League of the Crosses of Fire, held public ceremonies every Nov 11 outside the Great Synagogue of Paris honoring French Jewish soldiers who died in World War I, and made rejection of antisemitism one of his parties’ core principles which he insisted was printed on every document and leaflet. If he had won in 1934, his government would have been much better for the Jews than that of the Socialist Jew Leon Blum.

Franco was a philosemite who saved many Jews during the Holocaust, allowing refugees from Vichy France and ordering Spanish consulates in Axis countries to give Jews papers to come to Spain.

Jews were over-represented in the Italian Fascist Party and voted disproportionately for the Fascist Party; Mussolini’s closest advisor and confidant was Margherita Sarfatti and he only implemented antisemitic policies under duress from Hitler.

It’s simply not true that European blood-and-soil nationalism leads to antisemitism. And as we have seen leftists are highly capable of being very antisemitic.

[תמיר מורג Tamir Morag @Tamir114]

Mr. Ambani PLEASE continue doing God's work and do not let these people breach containment. Keep starlink out of india

[Elon Musk @elonmusk]

Dear Prime Minister Ambani,

Please accept my humble apologies for not realizing that you are the real boss of India.

Naturally, you would prefer to maintain your monopolistic exploitation of the great people of India, but would you nonetheless consider allowing Starlink to compete?

There are many areas of India, as there are in all countries, with no Internet access, which denies children the opportunity for education and for small businesses the opportunity to sell their goods to a global market. Starlink would change their lives for the better.

Thank you 🙏

If you’re a Jew who can’t find it in your heart to vote republican you’re deranged atp. The die is cast for anti semitism on the left. Deportations will cure the anti semitism in this country.

Get over yourself. None of your favorite minorities will save you. Your hope is red.

[Christian Heiens 🏛 @ChristianHeiens]

There is no liberal democratic solution to the fact that a majority of the voting public demands things which are mathematically impossible to provide.

People in France want nigh unlimited funding for everything ranging from Boomer communism to the world’s most lavish welfare state, and no one in electoral politics dares to tell them that all of their demands are physically impossible to meet because courageous politicians are also stupid politicians.

There is no escape. No one can do what must be done because the rewards are too great for those who counter-signal against doing the right thing.

So long as political legitimacy rests upon democratic consent, political reality will tend towards insolvency.

[Blake Neff @BlakeSNeff]

One of the strongest arguments in favor of the death penalty is that there is a large ideological cohort on the left whose chief passion is getting dangerous criminals back on the streets as quickly as possible. In places with no death penalty, they fight to abolish life without parole. In places with no life without parole, they fight to cap sentences at 25 years, or less. And another dimension is that these people fight fanatically for cashless bail, and to pay bail for violent lowlifes who can't afford it.

We are perfectly capable of making all our cities into safe, nice places, but it requires giving not a single inch to these people.

Here's what I constantly say to my Jewish/Israeli friends:

After the War, American society was the society in history with the highest levels of institutional trust (with the possible exception of, like, small Scandinavian countries). Everybody belonged to a church or synagogue or mosque, everybody read the newspapers, and they trusted the institutions of their country: newspapers, academia, even the government that had made the New Deal and won the World War and built the atom bomb.

Fast-forward to today, and American society has shockingly low amounts of institutional trust, especially among young people, to an extent that I think foreigners and older Americans fail to appreciate. I think Covid, in particular, was extremely important as the last nail in the coffin.

And what I believe American society to be doing right now, particularly on the Right (people on the left still trust *some* institutions), is taking Every Single Common Belief that American society had been doing until now, putting it on the table, and asking "Do we believe this? Why should we believe this?" And they will not stop asking until they have received satisfactory answers.

I believe this process to be fundamentally healthy.

I'm a conservative. Deep in my bones I want to preserve and not destroy; I like old and grand things simply because they are old and grand. I perfectly understand that taboos and sacred cows serve a useful and necessary social role. A society cannot long endure if it exists in a kind of perpetual state of metaphysical questioning.

But perhaps on some rare occasions such a bout of metaphysical questioning is healthy. It's certainly true that many--not all, but many--of the past taboos, particularly on issues relating to race or sex, have been demonic lies.

In any case, how I feel about it doesn't matter.

It's happening.

And one of the ways it's happning, Americans are asking: "How do we feel about the Jews? How do we feel about Israel?"

They are asking these questions because they are asking EVERY UNCOMFORTABLE QUESTION THEY CAN THINK OF, because in a world where every institution their parents trusted has failed them, they are trying to feel and reason their way to a worldview that actually works. They NEED this process. No demographic in America has been more unjustly treated in the past 20 years than young white men, all in the name of taboos and dogmas and moral blackmail.

And I think the best way to ensure this process is a creative and not a destructive one is to welcome the debate. Because I happen to believe that there are very good answers to those questions--but they will be ignored if they are crowded out by cries of "Nazi! Anti-semite!"

And moreover, I have faith in the great American people, a people who have achieved so much in so little time.

And enormous gratitude and admiration for @yhazony for welcoming the debate, and hosting the debate with such talent.

@Osint613 When will it take place?

[Vladimir Suvorov @VladimirSuvor]

This is an excellent point Yarvin makes repeatedly. He loves contrasting the Azeri-Armenian war, which had no US/international involvement and was thus resolved quickly, with minimal casualties, versus the eternal Israeli-Arab conflict, where the US bans Israel from permanent victory.

Amusing that someone who works for Ted Cruz perfectly understands this, whereas muh based fat dork influencer, Matthew Peterson, is either ignorant of this fact or pretends to be out of malice.

[Pascal-Emmanuel Gobry @pegobry_en]

As ever, visiting Israel is a kick in the nuts.

I hadn't been in 10-15 years. The country has changed so much.

15 years ago, Israel felt like a third world country with bits of the first world. Today it is as developed as Europe or America. 15 years ago outside the airport you had to get a sherut (collective taxi) and haggle with a guy; today there's an app. The trains were so bad that Israelis refused to take them, now they have a (French-built) bullet train. Construction everywhere. Factories, which apparently are legal. This is a prosperous, GROWING country.

And then there's the other obvious difference. Kids everywhere. Families everywhere. Little kids running around and being kids is normal. Not just religious Israelis. Something I hadn't noticed has almost disappeared from the West until I saw it here: teenagers hanging out in boy-girl twosomes. Like the proverbial frog in the water, we haven't noticed that the West has become empty of children to an extent that would cause our grandparents to immediately embrace fascism--even to me who is aware of the problem in an abstract sense, the contrast was shocking.

We need to win. We need to win because otherwise the West WILL die. The hour is much later than we think.
