Thought provoking discussion #VWBPE20, "Virtual Reality in Education: Intentional Immersion" led by @valibrarian. Key points included distinctions between #virtual reality and virtual worlds. Take home msg: Educators must keep up with developments for/ evaluate best use for both.
Impressive presentation @daviddejong90 at @EducatorsVR today, https://t.co/lCucKmAW54 Its focus on the power of immersive meaningful experiences along with key issues of ethics, safety, access and caregiver engagement packed a powerful message. Kudos!

Looking forward to an amazing conference on Education in VR starting today and to presenting about social VR for interprofessional education on Thursday. Full schedule at: https://t.co/T2YrIudH58
Thank you, Oksana Khazarova! Your passion and commitment to serving homeless populations is inspiring. Your collaboration in the ESHP virtual world training program is a unique contribution, which in its earliest stages was co-developed by @PathtoHousingPA #IndyCABVII
@Carol_Perryman @jcipe@IndyCABVII Learning curve is still an issue for some. We address this by focusing on specific skills required for the simulations & ensure that their computers meet min. requirements. SL is much more stable now, main issue is inconsistency of SL voice, which we address by using Zoom with SL
So interesting to hear about Lee et. al's work creating and evaluating an #IPE training program in #SecondLife. @JCIPE uses this venue for our interprofessional student training to work with homeless populations and those with dementia/their caregivers (we'll present @IndyCABVII)
Check out my article about using #VRforgood. I wrote this piece just before #OC6.
How #education and #learning in #VR works in a regular elder care company. https://t.co/bX51cYg7aM
Great points. Completely agree that "Innovative social VR platforms will still be able to survive, if they can offer something that Facebook Horizon cannot." Along with avatar realism, building techniques shown in the demo look much like Second Life's early days with prim builds.
@EducatorsVR@JeffCIPE@oculus Agree--Head of Enterprise, AR/VR Maria Fernandez Guajardo's keynote evokes ideas about ways that current developments in Oculus Business might have a parallel development in education with updates like hand tracking & more, https://t.co/SVAEdhir7Q, time 102:01-106:27
@marifes
Interesting Oculus Connect keynote, with an eye toward aspects of the future of VR that may be most useful for IPE. Michael Abrash's focus on virtual collaborative workspaces looks like a development process worth following, https://t.co/KJ4PZGp5qR @EducatorsVR@JeffCIPE@oculus
So pleased to see national recognition for @TJUHospital, as family members and I have benefited personally from care with these top specialty providers @RothmanOrtho @LeoKatzGastro and admired the work of Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center for many years
The specialty care provided at Jefferson Health hospitals ranks among the best in the nation according to @usnews! We are proud to be nationally ranked in eight specialties: https://t.co/ZCiM5LfWmz.
