Until Manchester City are sanctioned for their decade-long cheating every one of their goals and every one of their wins this season will be meaningless. The Premier League also remains hugely damaged for as long as this "sham" continues.
Every single goal City score, and every single time their players celebrate with those smug grins, and every single chant from their fans about it, damages the Premier League’s integrity and brand.
It's a victory that is likely to mean absolutely nothing in a couple of months when City get their punishment for nearly a decade of cheating. What a mess the Premier League is in.
Nothing will keep this story and the pressure for sanctions stronger than Man City continually winning and being dominant. It’s going to be the season-long drumbeat. Even more so if they did know in summer about this and went even harder in transfer market as a result.
When you see Erling Haaland scoring and the City fans celebrating as if the club has been persecuted and not been found to be the biggest cheats in football history, you understand why everything that now happens - a continued product of the cheating - badly stains the league
English football has no chance at reclaiming it's integrity with City in the Premier League. None, zero. It has felt like that for years & worse since the verdict was announced. Until they are sanctioned & expelled, this is what the PL will be. An awful, empty, terrible feeling.
French giants Bordeaux relegated to sixth tier for financial irregularities......and this was for just over €10m.
Take note, FA and the Prem. Do the right thing!
The longer that City are allowed to play in the PL the more farcical the PL becomes
None of the games they play in matter because the sanctions will be applied and theyll get punted
The whole league is a sham
I feel like I’m in a simulation but why is Real Madrid making Vini’s red card seem like such a scandal? Also his reaction will warrant a longer suspension
I have no insight into the facts of this situation, but “CLAIM: (outline a claim)/FACT: (outline facts that don’t address the claim just laid out)” is not generally how fact checks work.
