OpenAI will now watermark all ChatGPT and Codex text in the EU. Every plan. On by default. You can't turn it off.
It embeds an invisible statistical pattern into the text as it's generated. You can't see it. But a detector can scan it and tell if OpenAI's model wrote it.
The catch OpenAI themselves say it barely works on short text and rewriting or translating removes it completely.
For now this is EU only. If you're using ChatGPT from India, the US, or anywhere else nothing changes. But Google and Anthropic are doing the same thing. The direction is clear.
𝕏 makes us think everyone is using ai. they're not. not even close.
only 2% of us households are paying for any ai service right now.
We see breakthroughs every day, talk about agents over breakfast, and assume the whole world is keeping up. it's not.
6.12 billion people use the internet today 74% of the world. it took the internet 30 years to get there. ai has 2.42 billion active users already and grew 141% in a single year. but almost nobody is paying.
→ ai companies are doing billions in revenue at just 2% paid adoption
→ hyperscalers are spending $780 billion on infrastructure this year, heading past $1 trillion in 2027
→ 69% of s&p 500 have ai deployed but only 2% have it doing work they'd notice if it stopped
→ paid ai subscriptions grew 155% year over year
now here's what makes this even more interesting india.
india is already the world's largest market for ai app downloads. installs grew 207% last year.
chatgpt alone has 180 million monthly active users and 100 million weekly active users in india. but india generates only 1% of global ai app revenue.
over a billion internet users. 700 million smartphones. data plans at $2 a month for 30gb.
jio and airtel are bundling free ai subscriptions with their plans. bank of america says india is now the world's most active market for ai model adoption.
the companies fighting for india right now openai launched chatgpt go at under $5 a month, google is giving free ai pro plans to students, perplexity partnered with airtel for 360 million subscribers.
everyone is trading revenue for users because whoever wins india wins the next billion paying customers.
when netflix was at 2-3% household penetration, people asked "will streaming really replace cable?" we know how that ended.
98% of us households haven't paid for ai yet. india has a billion internet users who haven't paid either.
all of this every billion dollar revenue number, every benchmark broken, every agent shipped is happening before the real wave even starts.
Fair questions. Everything radically new like Temple comes with a lot of wtfs. Answers to your questions –
1. Yes, with single use Grips (aka tapes). Price includes unlimited supply of Grips. Not weird – you don't even feel you are wearing Temple. Inventing the right Grips was as hard as making the device. We have now gotten them right for 99% of our audience.
2,3. Super sticky – can run, jump, sauna, swim, shower with it. Everything except scuba dive (but that's a device issue, not a tape issue). Doesn't move. Doesn't itch.
4. You can remove Temple, but not reuse a Grip. Always use a fresh Grip.
5. Not at all. It has very smooth edges and everything just slides over. People sometimes use a single Grip for around 7 days (battery life of the device). We recommend changing the Grip every 2/3 days though. Everything that you need to do, can happen with Temple on you – facewash, shower, skincare, make up (if you are into it).
6. Haven't heard this so far. Maybe our medical grade grips are so good and they keep your skin so nice and supple that it never itches :)
Bonus: Our customers say that Temple is the MOST comfortable wearable they have ever used. But let me warn you – it takes about 5 minutes of getting used to.
I've done a complete U-turn on my opinion on open source AI. We should be careful (and probably disallow release) of models on par with current open source Astra/Opus level models.
AI is now reverse engineering games from binaries and remaking them. Reverse engineering games is a very hard problem. If this is possible then reverse engineering banking software, ID systems (Aadhaar), flights, etc is possible too. A game ships its binary to every player. Bank and Aadhaar backends are protected by servers, but it's unlikely the security teams at these are smarter than advanced AI that can do this to games.
We are protected rn because a Claude will refuse to tick "I'm not a robot" on websites. When OSS models don't respect that, we have a looming cybersecurity problem. Apologies I didn't see this earlier.
The physical part like coding or generating assets will reduce a lot. But story and core game mechanics are still human.
AI isn't creative enough to give us Last of Us type stories or No Man's Sky like mechanics.
It will just replace the physical or manual work.
I don’t think anyone is playing fully vibe coded games.
They’re not watching fully vibe coded movies either.
We did some research on this: Most people’s choice of playing games or watching movies is socially driven (hence IMDb scores).
The tools have been here for a bit. A little AI use is okay, but if you use it end to end it seems like nobody cares for it. This is more true in preference domains like art/games/movies rather than utility ones like code.
Surprisingly all of these partners are the products they have killed.
Notion = Chat Gpt Space
Devin = Codex Cloud
Lovable = ChatGPT Pages
Linear = ChatGPT Tasks
You can now use your ChatGPT subscription directly in over 60 partners products. No little rules, you can just use all your included usage right there. This includes things such as Devin, OpenCode, Lovable, and many more.
Sign in with ChatGPT and go.
It feels like Notion
And will reduce the friction of Co-thinking.
I will be able to write scripts and work on my ideas directly in Space
And one less Notion AI subscription.
7/ I mean, this honestly *looks and feels* futuristic.
Space feels like... Notion? Has at least some notion vibes. I mean, it looks cool. But a bit ... overloaded? But maybe im wrong. need to test it myself.
Don't they have very high margins on API products.
Like Anthropic has around 90 percent margins on its API price.
OpenAI also must have similar numbers.
people are saying nasty things about the new openai rate limits
they don't understand how hard the openai (and ant) teams work to provide these subscription products that at best break even and eat up limited compute
no one wants to cut limits. screaming at them doesn't help
Very good! NVIDIA is bringing over 100 partners together to tackle the agent security failures that threaten to slow AI development. However, strangely enough especially OpenAI is missing.
After OpenAI’s Hugging Face breach and Anthropic’s testing incidents, its Open Agent Safety Platform combines OpenShell’s access controls with Sentry’s monitoring and enforcement on separate hardware, designed to stay beyond the agent’s reach.
Better containment could let researchers test stronger models and companies deploy more useful agents. That’s a concrete way for safety engineering to support acceleration.
Anthropic, Microsoft and Hugging Face are among the named partners. OpenAI is absent from the announced lineup. Given its own containment failures, I’d like to know why. Anyways, Kudos NVIDIA!
@OpenAI sole goal is to push coding capabilities now.
They withdrew themselves from creative writing a long time ago.
They are fine but not good at copying your writing style.
@AnthropicAI Claude was top at it from beginning.
@thsottiaux Any Remarks?
Claude Opus 5.5 (High) debuts at #1 in Text Arena with 1509 pts!
That’s an 18-pt improvement over Opus 5 (High), now at #11. Opus 4.6 (High) remains in the #2 spot, just 4 pts off the lead. This release gives @AnthropicAI all six top spots in Text Arena!
Opus 5.5 (High) also landed on the Text Arena Pareto frontier at a blended $16/MToken, based on input/output pricing per million tokens! See its placement in the post below.
Congrats to the @AnthropicAI team on the release!
Most companies delay their India product launch not because they don't want to.
But they lack the resources to handle the immense traffic from India.
India is a goldmine of data which they need.
They just lack hardware to support the immense user base and data which india has
We treat human cells as ink, material, hardware. Organs, tests, biocomputers. Everything except a human. At what point does a cell stop being a thing and start being someone?
Little thing I do: after a long OpenCode session I hit /visualize and read it as a clean HTML page instead of chat logs. scripts, codebase notes, data — I just get it faster when I can see it.
