I would like to see you make a voluntary contribution of 5% of your family’s $200M net worth to the government for important healthcare, childcare, and jobs. Don’t worry, it’s just one-time. Your $10M contribution will provide free childcare for over 1,000 California kids for a year! Once you’ve made your personal contribution to a more just and equitable society, I’ll support all your other asset seizure ideas. But you gotta go first…
@TheNCSmaster Technically Microsoft has tried smaller games with Double Fine, Ninja Theory, and Compulsion. They have had 5+ years to make various games. The result? Upside down on every single one. You're right though - Nintendo does get this right. They also have a much lower CoL in Japan.
@welltree_bonsai@Stealth40k Okay, so it's known/believed to be that Aonuma is leading the next Zelda game and this remake is handled by a different team/studio. Good to know!
@Stealth40k It's not profitable enough to justify its current existence. Microsoft isn't running a charity event for gaming. These cuts likely should have been done many years ago. It sucks and I hope all developers get a solid severance.
@NintenTalk It seems like you'll be able to start with Xenoblade Genesis. I'd probably start there. The XBC games are excellent and well worth the time. However, it is a large time commitment. After Genesis maybe then go at the XBC quadrilogy. They are worth playing.
@Spainkiller Haha yea, it's practically a GBA game. Loved my playthrough of it. Would love to see homebrew or something get the game running on a GBC or even GBA.
@GameOverThirty I get a feeling Double Fine could be on the chopping block unfortunately. It appears that Kiln nor Keeper did any significant numbers. With that studio being in San Francisco the costs to run that studio must be high even with a lower headcount than other studios.
@Stealth40k I think they could work with the scale of the world. Going back to those dungeons you realize how small they were. I think they can make those environments larger/more immersive while keeping with the original games intent/feel.
@opinionWithAura@iLeoncitouwuC@Stealth40k Upscaling from 720p to 1080p in handheld isn’t free. There is a cost to it. I imagine the game runs smooth handheld at 720p and doesn’t at an upscale 1080p in handheld.
@BoTalksGames It's all PR speak. Digital going down is better PR than physical going up PR. It's that simple. The cards are expensive if fully on card, therefore, they need physical to be higher business wise. It's a good business move and great PR to say digital is lower.
@jamedina17@DustinCanFly Yes, that's what Nintendo wants you to believe. It's all PR speak. The cost of cards are very expensive and physical needs to be at a higher price business wise. Digital dropping in price is better PR than physical going up PR.
@GameOverThirty It's all PR speak. Digital is the MSRP that Nintendo wants the game to be at. Cards cost Nintendo a lot more money so they price the physical higher. Saying physical going up $10 is a lot worse than Digital going down. In this economy there is no legitimate price dropping.
