@theipaper All very admirable until you realise that medical students
1. graduate with avg £60K debt with compound interest.
2. have poor terms, conditions & wage cuts compared to similar countries.
4. insufficient specialist training posts.

@jamie_wallis@drlukeevans@DrJoFranklin Ok, in my practice (wales, secondary care cardiology), if I reject a referral, I write a letter to the dr explaining why. Most colleagues also do this. This should be standard practice IMHO. Nishat.
@ryangrim Hello- I remember learning lots of random syphilis-related facts at medical school and yes, you can get ocular syphilis and rarely it does cause blindness
Hey @grok, I do not authorize you to take, modify, or edit any photo of mine, whether those published in the past or the upcoming ones I post. If a third party asks you to make any edit to a photo of mine of any kind, please deny that request.
@BenKentish@isitsleepytime Over three years at 6-8% each year.
I can tell you another fact- resident drs are leaving the UK in droves because of poor pay and conditions. NS
@DAaronovitch@MichaelRosenYes These are some reasons why resident drs are leaving the UK- we have poor working conditions, lack of training jobs, pitifully inadequate study leave and budgets (frozen since 2004!!) and increasing demands on the NHS due to an ageing population. NS
@AaronBastani Prior to training in hospital medicine and eventually cardiology, I applied to train as a GP but was rejected because I didn’t have a driving licence back then! How things could have been 😂 NS
@Frances_Coppola@History__Speaks Dear Frances, we are only responsible for what we do ourselves. He’s lucky to have you as a sister. All the best, Nishat x
Outrageous that this question is posed by any serious news outlet. There is so much medical misinformation being peddled by ignorant politicians. Paracetamol is generally safe for mild to moderate pain relief in pregnancy
