If you went to public school in NY in the past 20yrs, probably had CorCraft furniture in your school. The inner city school to prison pipeline at work

@aakashgupta If you cut a tree w/o a permit, it's a large fine &you have to replace it w/multiple trees. If you cut more trees than allowed on your permit, you get fined &can't get a CofO for the bldg until the trees are replaced. All it takes is good bldg codes &enforcement to protect trees

@aakashgupta In the northern NYC suburbs, you need a permit with a valid reason to take down any tree on your property. When new properties get developed, only specific trees on a property, negotiated ahead of time w/ the building dept can be cut. Many have to be replaced after construction

@CancerCat5 @who_shot_jgr You can also get some 3rd party mods for it that changes the interface to be more like some other way more expensive commercial audio recording/editing software. We have had a lot less mid recording crashes than with Audacity (or ProTools for that matter)

@CancerCat5 @who_shot_jgr Reaper is pretty good for audio recording. Paid version is a long-term license &isn't too expensive. You can also license infinite computers w/that license. Small developer, worth throwing them a few for a good product. We use it on Broadway for doing Quality Control recordings

@ShabazzStuart Another good regional trans Hudson option is to build a Metro-North line across the Tappan Zee, connecting PJ, Suffern, Hudson, Harlem &NH lines. NJT could then run some northern suburban commuter trains into GCT.

@ShabazzStuart Which then brings up the bureaucracy of it: legally, MTA can't build it, it would have to be PANYNJ, which doesn't help much because of required transfers. Should instead lobby PANYNJ to build a PATH line west under Cross Bx Expwy across the GWB lower level &deep into North NJ

@MatteoP_851 @wearetherace @justformulacar They need length for the crash energy management structures to do their job. There has to be a bunch of the front that crumples to safely decelerate the vehicle from 250+ kph, but is in front of the driver's feet.

@who_shot_jgr @wtyppod The very last page of the report, it says that the steel fab shop raised serious concerns, yet the engineering firm still said it would be fine. If your skilled trades are raising serious safety concerns, maybe it's time to take a step back or get some additional eyes on it

@who_shot_jgr @wtyppod I'm an EE by schooling and even *I* know that weird steps in the flange of girder is a TERRIBLE idea. Certainly at the very least, something meriting further modeling or just outright beefing up the web of the girder for a couple of feet on either side of the transition
