An occupying, colonizing force tells its victims that the path to freedom lies in betraying those who defend their sovereignty. Yet the students and educators of Iran’s University of Science and Technology, spoke to me of their determination to rebuild their university to advance their nations sovereignty:
“I remember, after the assassination of certain nuclear scientists, many of our best people had registered to study nuclear science. The same happened in Aerospace field.
The research center that was attacked stands as the culmination of twenty years of dedication by our researchers at the University of Science and Technology. I am confident that in less than two years, and even earlier than that, it will be rebuilt and surpass its previous level. for the knowledge forged here was created from nothing, and its legacy belongs to us.”

It’s not lost on me that the attack on South Pars occurred on the eve of the anniversary of Iran’s oil nationalization—a significant assertion of sovereignty over natural resources. That assertion was met first with a CIA-backed coup against the democratically elected government that claimed that right; it then evolved into decades of US-led sanctions designed to cripple the ability to develop those resources; and it has now culminated in the US bombing the very infrastructure built despite those efforts to halt it.
Equally important is that South Pars is home to Iran’s largest anti-imperialist labor union, defending workers’ rights while protecting them from imperialist appropriation. This attack, therefore, is also a direct assault on the union and its significant struggle for workers rights.

Watching African women & men fighting to save humanity & the int'l legal system against the ruthless attacks supported/enabled by most of the West will remain one of the defining images of our time. This will make history whatever happens.
In less than 2 minutes, the representative for the State of Palestine at the UN, eviscerates the entire myth of Western "civilization" under the US Military Industrial Complex. This should be mandatory viewing in schools and universities throughout the Western world, if we do want to learn about upholding human rights, before we even begin to preach them to others.
