Thirteen years ago, I was horrified to watch 37 year old Jem Abbotts succumb to #sepsis and feel his young family’s pain. Now, with more than 80% of our public surviving compared with 60% in his day, I think we’ve done Jem proud. We will keep doing him proud.

We are beginning to see patients with seasonal 'flu admitted to ITU. If you're in a risk group, if you're offered immunisation, please accept it. Flu can kill.
