@Marshmallow3UK @charlesdowding I purchased mushroom compost/ organic mix to bulk out my home made to start a 1/2 acre no dig market garden, tested with beans to third leaf was ok so filled my tunnel with it, all my tomatoes distorted and followed by all my beans, potatoes etc. It has aminopyralid in the manure

When people buy this stuff, quite innocently, they’re unlikely to read the small print which advises against putting grass clippings into compost of their green bin. This and other brands containing pyralids are partly responsible for the heartache of failing crops for so many

Excluded for a year my wedding business in shatters I pulled myself through to try my guts out for a new business and thanks to the government lifting the ban on this poison everything is gone for a second time. My heart is broken so much I cannot breath.

@charlesdowding I bought it from a company near the mushroom farm in Perth Scotland and I have tried contacting them in every way now and they put the phone down on me and ignore my emails and have blocked me from
Messages despite my polite just want to discuss!

@charlesdowding @Ben_Raskin @1alexmason @Rishardtrading @GROWTH_Col_UK I think I’ll give them a go and test again a few times and again for spring in the hope of some salvage for next year and at least get to experiment from this absolute disaster and lesson learnt the hard way!

@VictoriaYeldham @GROWTH_Col_UK @charlesdowding Home compost is amazing and I managed to make a good 6 tonne of my own but sadly for the amount of ground I needed I had to buy in to mix and bulk out for this first expansion year but I will absolutely be relying on my own making in larger amounts for next year to start again!

@charlesdowding Thank you Charles, I have come out of hiding and depression to feeling so mad now! This should not be happening to so many people and so easily! A piece of paper on lifting the ban just shocks me and I’m still shaking actually this has to stop!

@Magical_Bear_ @GROWTH_Col_UK @charlesdowding I’m really sorry to hear that, I’ve taken the plants out of those beds and raked it all off back into a heap and now trying to add more soil life into that ground and work like a mad woman to make a new bit of ground spending more thousands to salvage the business it’s so awful

@AfriNoonPerm @GROWTH_Col_UK @charlesdowding It was a mushroom compost I bought in with an organic matter mix to then bulk out my own home made compost. I have 4 beds of home made compost growing amazing and the ones with the mushroom all alien like and stupidly filled my tunnel with it too so lost all my tomatoe plants 🤨

@OliverDowding Thank you I’m sure some even more so I have stopped feeling sorry for myself and trying to start again but this should never be able to happen so easily and freely as it is doing to so many people! I am shocked how common this is to ruin food supplies and businesses.
