There is no easy way to ‘do’ Stage IV cancer. There is the slashing, the poisoning, the burning, the off the scale pain, the fear, the fatigue, the sickness, the lymphoedema, the brain fog, the sleeplessness, the weight loss, the identity loss, the job loss, the nerve damage, the late-effects, the infections, the choking, the scanxiety, the financial toxicity, the frustration, the anger, the alienation, the vulnerability, the blood, the sweat and the tears. And then some. This is just a sample of what to expect.
There are no shortcuts, and so to get through it, you have to go through it. But if you can summon up the strength, navigate a path with grace and a smile, you can emerge a better person.
