What if China goes into a recession and no one notices? What if China's impact on the global economy simply isn't as "big" as everyone assumes? What if the US, with its big infrastructure and AI stimulus, can carry the global economy on its shoulders over the next year?
This. It's in a homegrown recession for the first time in 25+ years. Leadership has no idea what to do. Infrastructure stimulus will be meaningless. This isn't 2008. And it intentionally destroyed its own tech sector over the last 3 years so tech can't save it either.

Great article on investing from 2013. "Periods of above-average performance are inevitably followed by below-average returns, and bad times inevitably set the stage for surprisingly good performance." https://t.co/Dn6IU2hxs2
They resold it on eBay. "They believe that Robert was operating the scheme for over 10 years, bringing the total loss of merchandise to over $5 million."

Great chart from the 1970s. Centex was one of the large publicly traded homebuilders at that time. Wall Street was still buying the stock even when mortgage rates were over 10%. Lol.
There are always some caught up in the mania and speculation. Look at Uber Trucking. They hired hundreds in Chicago. But that business isn't working. Laid off a bunch. Don't even mention it on conference calls now.
Buffett is buying some homebuilders, huh? Wow. Haven't seen them get into these in a long time. According to the 13-F, bought positions in Lennar, NVR and DR Horton in the second quarter. $LEN $NVR $DHI
