Deficits will grow past $3 trillion a year. Interest costs will more than double to $2 trillion.

In 2019, deficits were $1 trillion and interest $300 billion!

Most of the new costs come from the Ways & Means Committee -- which proposes about $4.8 trillion of tax cuts and $1 trillion of offsets. The bill spends another $300 billion on defense and border security.

It saves $900 billion from Energy & Commerce and another $700 billion from other Committees.

With interest and interactions, that gets you to $3.3 trillion.

If expiring tax cuts are made permanent and defense and immigration spending is extended, that gets you to $5.2 trillion of borrowing.

In May 1944, Soviet leader Joseph Stalin ordered the mass deportation of 238,500 Crimean Tatars.

Forced into cattle cars, they were transported 4,000 kilometers to Central Asia. The Tatars called them “crematoria on wheels.” Along the way, 30,000 died of suffocation, hunger, and thirst. By 1947, nearly half had perished. Entire villages vanished; bodies lay decomposing along the tracks.

Survivors endured decades in exile, hidden from the world. Only in the late 1980s did they begin to return to Crimea. They lived in peace as an autonomous part of Ukraine - until 2014.

After Russia’s illegal annexation of Crimea, repression, kidnappings, and executions returned. Today, Crimean Tatars face arrests, disappearances, and persecution once again.
