Rule at the moment is having to wait until a fraud actually occurs before you can change your drivers licence. We know they have been stolen. We need to be proactive, cancel them and give new ones to all affected.

@norfer40 @agarner When you provided proof of ID using Drivers licence, passport or medicare card, optus kept this info on file which has now been leaked along with date if birth, email and home address. This info can be used to open up bank accounts, get loans or credit cards in your name.

@suzannelolsenau @agarner And some peoples complete ID info. Passport no's, drivers licence no's, medicare no's. They can use that info to create bank accounts, take out loans and credit cards all in your name, not pay back and you are left with debt and trying to prove it wasnt you.Scary stuff.

@BeggTania @patrickkeneally Its not the direct debits/ payments we have. Its our identification documentation we provided on opening that have been taken. Passport numbers, drivers licence numbers, medicare. Hackers use that info to steal your identity, get loans and other things in your name. Really scary.
