@BREAL412 Sorry to see you go, but I’m sure someone will pick you up very quickly because of how good you are at what you do. It was a pleasure being able to have you do stories when I was coaching. Some great times! Looking forward to see what it is next. God Bless

So sad to hear the passing of a great man. Ed will always be remembered for all he did for the student athletes not just on the track but off too. Proud to know him and be able to call him a friend, so many memories that won’t be forgotten
Our hearts are profoundly heavy as we mourn the loss of our coach, mentor, teacher, colleague, and friend, Coach Ed Helbig. Please keep his family in your thoughts and your prayers. We will continue to “get one day better” for you Coach- we love you. ❤️
I hate to hear about stuff like this but I know not all coaches care for the student athletes. Coaches need to step back and think why are they there again!
When I stepped away it was extremely hard because I still cared to coach but understood it was time because of my career
When your a coach you should care for all athletes during the season and not just the elite, your program will never grow just supporting certain athletes. Shame on coaches who do that, because those athletes don’t deserve to be ignored.
Thoughts???
High school coaching is not for the weak. It’s countless hours spent in this field. It’s not just a show up and coach on game days. There’s so much more behind the scenes that high school coaches do that goes unnoticed by many.
