I’ve just read the details. It’s very complicated because of the specifics of her son’s disability. Even her conveyancer got it wrong.
I’m not a Labour voter, but this seems genuine.

The perceived meaning of the flag depends upon context and intent.
Example - the flag at an NF rally is flown with racist intent.
The same flag at a football match is support for the national team.
Surely that’s obvious.

You meet people from other walks of life, parts of the country, ethnicities. You become friends.
Personally, I found myself more willing to listen to others’ points of view.
And it was fun mixing with these new people.
