Hours ago, Israel deliberately targeted one of south Lebanon's few remaining frontline reporters, @HadiHtt, who has made it his mission to document and archive the Israeli war crimes being committed by Israel against our people, despite the overwhelming cost.
Thankfully his injuries are not life threatening and he is currently recovering from shrapnel wounds after an Israeli quadcopter attacked him as he was filming in the village of Kfar Tebnit.
I can say with full confidence that Hadi is one of the most dedicated and selfless journalists I have had the honour to work with. His devotion to amplifying the struggle of the people of south Lebanon, as a native son of the land, goes beyond mere reporting; he brings truth to light where it is needed most, even under the most challenging circumstances.
We all wish him a full and speedy recovery.
الحمد لله على السلامة

Why is solidarity with anti-colonial and anti-imperial resistance so often dismissed as extremism?

Crazy that this is getting barely any coverage. This year’s European Press Prize was just awarded to an investigative report by the Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant. It is entitled “What the Wounds Tell” and in it the journalists Maud Effting and Willem Feenstra document the cases of 114 children in Gaza under the age of 15 who were struck by a single bullet to the head or chest. Almost all of them died or were left severely disabled. They chose to document only the cases of boys and girls under the age of 15 (though often much younger: aged 3, 4 or 7) because these are children who can be immediately identified as such. “A single bullet in these parts of the body is a clear indication that these children were deliberately targeted“, the two journalists write.

I’ve just learned of the killing by Israel of one of the most courageous people I knew: rescuer Hussein Jaber from the Lebanese Civil Defence in Nabatieh.
I had known him for three years and met him many times. He was always inspiring, brave and endlessly helpful for many reporters.
We will not forget what Israel has done to Lebanon’s rescuers.
We will not forget Hussein.
In the war's first week, Israel issued forced displacement orders to 100+ villages in Lebanon.
Despite the Israeli regime's attempts to inflame sectarian tensions, residents in towns like Alma al-Shaab refused to collaborate or leave until forcibly displaced.

Journalist Amal Khalil (@AmalKhalil83) was reportedly injured after an Israeli strike targeted her earlier today. The Red Cross and the Lebanese Armed Forces are working to rescue her. Her family, colleagues, and loved ones are awaiting her safe return home.
As we wait for Amal Khalil's safe return home, Israel has launched a smear campaign against the journalist, as it did when it assassinated Gaza's most prominent media workers.
