📒 Nexa Monthly Newsletter May 2026: NexScript Unleashed
May was full of activities and developments, starting the month with a halving event on 1 May 2026 01:36 UTC, followed by a halving space on X, both events happening at the turn of the month and already reviewed in last month's newsletter.
Also at the start of the month, the team visited Consensus in Miami, gained invaluable experience and fresh industry insights from one of the world's biggest cryptocurrency conferences.
The most important release in May was NexScript v1.1.0, which introduced a major improvement via a core library migration. Developers, please note that NexScript now defaults to a local regtest instead of connecting to a live network.
The team is continuously working on Tailstorm preparations and testing, and is looking forward to the upcoming hard fork, the date of which has yet to be announced.
The main highlight from the media content is David’s webinar on Nexa smart contracts which is featured at the top of the newsletter. Find more news, a freshly updated Nexa main website, a mining guide, and the community event winner announcement below. 👇
Bitcoin Unlimited has been trying to fix bitcoin for over a decade. Nobody listened so they created NEXA. You might want to take a hard look at the tech behind it. It’s the most capable cryptocurrency I’ve ever seen. With their upcoming hard fork, they integrate Tailstorm which in my opinion blows KASPA 10bps out of the water when you factor in it does 20 times more TPS
NEXA, brought to you by bitcoin unlimited. Better than bitcoin, better than Ethereum, better than Solana, better than Cardano, and better than Kaspa. Available on Biconomy exchange for the USA with no KYC. My video proves it all nothing compares to NEXA.
@Kaspa2021 I still had a few million Kaspa just in case but now own billions of NEXA. As much as I like Kaspa I hate to say it, but Nexa is far superior
(8) Conclusion: A Fresh Wind in the Smart Contract World
David Thibodeau’s webinar shows that Nexa is charting an interesting middle path. The project takes the proven security and simplicity of the Bitcoin UTXO model and adds powerful, introspective smart contracts — without the complexity and risks that come with many other blockchains.
By treating smart contracts as a natural extension of regular transactions, Nexa achieves a powerful combination of:
• High performance
• Low costs
• Easy auditing
• Strong focus on real-world applications
Whether Nexa will ultimately become the dominant player in DeFi and blockchain gaming remains to be seen. But one thing is clear: the project offers a refreshing alternative to the current generation of smart contract platforms.
Nexa Smart Contracts: Why This Blockchain Project Changes the Game
In a recent webinar, Nexa developer David Thibodeau took the time to explain how smart contracts actually work on the Nexa blockchain. What emerged was a clear and surprisingly simple story: smart contracts don’t have to be complicated, expensive, or risky. Nexa demonstrates that you can build powerful automated contracts on a foundation similar to Bitcoin — but with significantly more capabilities. 🧵
The Alephium bridge just got drained for $815K in 7 minutes.
13.76M ALPH minted out of thin air. From nothing.
This can NEVER happen on Nexa. Here’s why:
✅ Tokens are native on L1 — no wrapped versions, no custodial pools
✅ UTXO model: every output traces back to a valid input. No mint from nowhere.
✅ No off-chain bridge backend. No guardian keys. No single point of failure.
✅ Supply enforced by Proof-of-Work — math, not trust
The Alephium exploit wasn’t bad luck. It was a structural risk built into every bridge.
Nexa removes the attack surface entirely.
Not better security. Different architecture.
My thoughts are with all the Alephium holders. Hopefully it will make a comeback 🍀🙏🏼

Sui and Solana for whatever reason continue to be hyped up even after they crash. Meanwhile their is $Nexa which is the most capable crypto ever produced by a team thats been working on bitcoin for over a decade now and it sits at less than 5 million market cap. It’s no wonder people are losing interest in L1’s because only garbage is being shilled on CT. Technology that actually works is out there if you pay attention.
It's a very nice website: clean, crystal clear, honest, and minimalist. Of course, when you read it all and know what's coming, the tech is insane and the project has the potential to be more valuable than Bitcoin and gold.
But from a marketing perspective, it's not clear to a normal person or business why they need Nexa. No emotion is triggered whatsoever, and no problem is being solved for them. I understand it's still being built. Then share at least your vision of the future: why it's being built, its connection with AI, robots, and RWA, the problems with our monetary system and crypto, and how Nexa solves them—along with Satoshi’s vision.
This project deserves a lot of eyes on it 👀
