๐จ Fire victims lost everything, but not a single dollar from the $100 MILLION raised ever reached them.ย

California Democrats funneled it to nonprofits instead.

This is what corruption looks like. Thank you @FOXLA, @MarlaTellez, and Sue Pascoe for exposing it.

If you want a better county:
1.) Be a better person
2.) Care about the struggles of others
3.) Be educated, not just surface level, but really dive into important topics and think about them from a variety of perspectives.
4.) Live with honor, true to solid moral values.
Solar is an amazing technology, but it really does have a long way to go before it can take over the majority of our energy production needs. Nuclear is also a crucial part of our move to electrification.
How can a government be so irresponsibly uneducated. The idiocy on display to even think this idea could work is beyond comprehension. How do you even go about taxing money that isnโt there? They do realize that the shareholders donโt receive the gains until they sell right? Oh I understand, they will force you to sell an enormous amount of stock every year so that the politicians can become more powerful over time ๐ dumbest economic policy I have ever seen.
On July 1, it looks likely that Australia will pass the first tax on "unrealized capital gains" for people with over 3MM AUD in assets (about 2MM USD).
- this includes Bitcoin.
- if you have Bitcoin and it goes up between 2025 and 2026, you owe the Government 15% of the gains.
- the ability to carry forward losses is not explicitly defined.
If you own shares (in something like MSTR) this would apply as well.
A similar proposal was discussed by our previous administration.
@ninaturner I donโt think full on single payer healthcare is the right move. But some kind of universal healthcare safety net would be I think beneficial for our society
@Soulful1865 He was arrested ๐๐ป and it looks like he has a lot of violent offenses on his record. His daughter btw showed no signs of a bite as per the article I just read. Iโm not resharing the article because itโs down here in the comments already.
A very good quick synopsis of the current situation we find ourselves in. It is important to recognize that there are indeed very big challenges that we must overcome as we look to reduce our dependence on globalized trade. There are intelligent ways to continue our relationship with other countries while also ensuring that we maintain strong national production capabilities. Only time will tell if our leaders have the mental fortitude to make this happen.
