➡️ Today, we have become the first force in the UK to deploy evidential roadside alcohol-testing technology in a bid to detect and deter drink-driving among returning holidaymakers.
Previously, an initial screening test would be followed by the requirement for an evidential sample in custody, potentially several hours later, however, the new evidential roadside alcohol testing allows officers to charge motorists at the roadside for drink-driving offences.
✅ This means that there is no possibility for anyone’s alcohol level to drop while they’re waiting for an evidential breath test in custody.
The new technology is being introduced as part of Operation Take Off, a campaign targeting motorists returning from holidays who may have consumed alcohol before or during their journey home ✈️
The initiative is dedicated in memory of eight-month-old Zackary Blades and his aunt, Karlene Warner, who were killed in May 2024 by a driver leaving Newcastle Airport driving nearly three times over the legal limit.
If someone has been drinking before boarding their flight home, or while travelling, and believes that somehow they can get behind the wheel without consequence, they should think again. We now have the ability to remove them from the road immediately and begin the process of bringing them to justice.
Alongside the new alcohol-testing equipment, we are also trialling new technology to improve the detection of drivers suspected of using nitrous oxide at the wheel.
There is no excuse for drink or drug driving | #OPTAKEOFF
Check trade trophy meets auto glass meets non league
Hopefully helps our u21s but believe the non league clubs view it with the same suspicion as lower leagues clubs did the checkatrade
£5 to get in but the Attendance will be interesting

@potterlytics Depending on the timeframe I see his interim role to be as a supportive sounding board for SS ..rather than his judge and jury , with little or no real involvement with retention , recruitment( as there’s no xfer window )
& Possibly SS good cop , SJW bad cop for a while
Stoke City has announced that Ricky Martin has left his position as Technical Director of the Club.
Jonathan Walters, who made 271 appearances for the Potters between 2010 and 2017, has taken over the position on an interim basis until further notice.
Significant news from Stoke City - technical director Ricky Martin has been sacked. Martin has come under scrutiny after 24 signings this season, with the club currently only 3 points above the relegation zone. Big call by the Stoke board #scfc
Over use of 80-90s business jargon - 5 Pillars , KPIs etc tho RM never mentioned his own KPIs or if on a PIP ( Personal Improvement Plan)
SS seemed to take the mick out of RMs overuse of KPIs at the fans forum
Disquiet ,you back your man .suggests that wasn’t the reason 2/2
Supporters will perhaps never know the real reason for Rick Martins departure , supporter disquiet due to league postn blamed on poor xfers , incomplete squad , rumoured player rebellions , interference with training & team selections with players banished to the u21s #SCFC 1/2
He’s gone …no not Sir Lindsay Hoyle , though he should probably go as well ..
The real news of the day is Ricky Martin’s departure, sacked call it what you want , he’s gone & taken his KPIs & 5 pillocks with him after a disastrous stay as Technical Director #SCFC
Stoke looking to turn 4 million into 1 Million ( Manhoef ) later
#SCFC
Any outgoings may be as interesting as incomings .. as in another poor season our summer recruitment unsurprisingly produced several players that didn’t fit into any of RMs - Now , Future and Project pillars
Seems the youth sides now has a ‘ Stoke City way ‘ ‘ Potters performance ‘ standard
Having an identity , ethos & standards is vital & should come from the very top , sadly over many years it’s been difficult to determine exactly what ours is

#Matchoftheday breath of fresh air last night
No time wasting from pundits , no waffle from media trained managers / players avoiding fines & rifts in the dressing room
Just football what mattered ..football ..brilliant , long may the new format continue
@BBCSport
So after nearly 20 years at the Club I grew up supporting, yesterday was my last day @stokecity. I’m looking forward to spending Christmas with my family and then looking for something in the New Year. Please DM me with any potential job opportunities.
