Ten of Nebraska's 11 counties that vote entirely by mail backed the GOP Secretary of State candidate who has promised to work to eliminate mail-in voting.
Vote-by-mail counties picked Scott Petersen over GOP incumbent Bob Evnen 58%-42%.
Petersen won with 55% statewide.
This is the mortgage on a $500k home in a newer suburban area in Omaha with $100k down, including taxes and insurance. It is about as low as you will find in the Elkhorn/Gretna/Bennington, NE area. If you are in the camp that your mortgage shouldn’t be more than 20% of your net take-home pay, your household income needs to be at least $19k a month. Not a lot of people hit that, so are we talking about 30-40% of your net take-home pay? Throw in childcare, and Houston, we have a problem. Not sustainable.
Just 20 minutes before Trump announced the Strait of Hormuz was open—Someone dumped 7,990 lots of Brent crude futures.
A $760 million bet that oil prices would drop.
Orders far larger than anything else in the market at that moment.
They made a fortune.
But somebody knew the announcement was coming.
This is insider trading at the highest level of government.
The Governor vetoed a bill that passed 49-0, actually made it is so we would need to use property taxes LESS, and yet 26 people flipped their votes because apparently they serve the Governor, not the people. Absolutely wild.

But Republicans want you to think someone working 40 hours a week for poverty wages, relying on SNAP and Medicaid to survive, is the problem.

This picture is sad.
You could not better capture the quintessential disconnect of America if you tried:
“Billionaire in gilded office gives Grandma $100 tip, to help pay for her dying husband’s cancer treatment”
A perfect image of the Trump era: A grandmother has to work at DoorDash in order to get by, while the president decorates his office in gold accent pieces.
Before Citizens United, billionaires spent around $16 million on presidential elections. In 2024, they spent $2.6 BILLION.
And what did they get for that money? They got a MASSIVE tax cut for themselves.
This is nuts, Trump really did do exactly what Ryan Grim suggested he do hours earlier: pretend Iran's ten-point plan is a new proposal, counting on the fact that the media hasn't been reporting on Iran's demands to make it look like a new offer Tehran put forward in desperation.
In the best case scenario, Trump struck a deal to reopen a Strait that was open before the pointless war he started, with the IRGC demonstrating its control over the Strait and potentially extracting fees plus sanctions relief. Thousands of innocents - including hundreds of children - dead in Lebanon and Iran for no reason. U.S. troops killed and wounded. U.S. embassies and bases in the Middle East badly damaged. U.S. standing in the world obliterated. U.S. munitions badly depleted. Hundreds of billions spent. Prices up everywhere. More global economic fallout to come. Putin strengthened and enriched. Just a catastrophic situation even in the best of circumstances. A profoundly shameful episode in American history no matter what happens next.
State Sec. Rubio: “Imagine if instead of spending billions on weapons, Iran spent that money on its people. They’d have a much different country.”

Absolute bombshell. Data reveals someone made a massive 580 MILLION dollar trade on oil exactly 15 minutes BEFORE Donald Trump posted his tweet about pausing the Iran war. Someone on the inside just made a life changing fortune. The corruption is blatant.
Behold! A $100,000-dollar American missile, launched by a 20 million-dollar plane that flies at a cost of $6000 dollars/hour to kill people who live on less than $3 a day in Iran.
Meanwhile in America, Republican lawmakers believe that a $6.20 daily SNAP benefit providing food to a needy person is wasteful spending, so A BIG BEAUTIFUL ACT of legislation was passed to remedy that in order to bolster the economy of the greatest nation in the world. ~Jacob Lassiter
There’s only one thing I like about Donald Trump: His routine ability to make absolute fools out of his supporters by suddenly forcing them to defend something they’ve spent years loudly being against.
