The President of the Republic of Uganda and Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, His Excellency Gen. (Rtd) @KagutaMuseveni, has paid tribute to the people of Busoga for their unwavering contribution during struggles that led to the liberation of Uganda.

The President was officiating today, Tuesday, at the 43rd Tarehe Sita anniversary celebrations at Busesa in Bugweri district, Busoga sub-region. He was in the company of the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Maama @JanetMuseveni.

"I salute the people of Busoga who participated in our struggles. Some of those who received medals today were children of those who were executed by Idi Amin," President Museveni remarked.

Maama Janet and I were honored to participate in the 43rd Tarehe Sita Anniversary Celebrations in Bugweri District this afternoon.

Our journey began with a visit to the home of the late Rt. Hon. Kirunda Kivenjinja, where we paid tribute to his significant contributions to our cause and the historical mission to transform Uganda.

Yesterday, I handed over assistive devices to People Living With Disabilities and commissioned a mobile X-ray clinic & portable digital X-ray equipment in Lira City. This will support active TB case finding and patient monitoring efforts in Lango & Acholi subregions.

This afternoon, Maama Janet and I were in Kyankwanzi, closing a two-week-long transformational patriotism course for 413 secondary school head teachers from Western Uganda, Mubende, and Kasanda districts.

I thank Ms. Helen Seku for rejuvenating the patriotism effort. She has rightly concentrated on critical change agents, such as the headteachers.

In the negotiations for the Pact of the Future, the outcome document of the upcoming United Nations Summit of the Future to be held in New York in September, 2024, we should clearly define priorities that favour developing countries by maintaining unity, solidarity and collective coordination among our Member States, in line with the Bandung principles.
