Pete Hegseth just reversed a Pentagon policy that guts the military’s religious affiliation codes, slashing them from more than 200 down to just 31.
21 of those categories are labeled Christian. Yet the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (@Ch_JesusChrist) was not one of them.
Hegseth owes an honest explantation.
Since 2020, Arizona has lost an estimated $67 million in state revenue due to tax cuts for data centers. But the Arizona Republican budget proposal sought to cut SNAP and Medicaid instead of increasing revenue by repealing handouts for data centers. https://t.co/3icUtfHdiw
@azesamemes We wouldn’t know if ESA education is better or worse; we can’t tell. No standard metric of assessment required, we don’t know what is being taught because there is no real way to check. We already see not only financial fraud but curriculum fraud. So your premise is not valid.
@azesamemes@SuchSuchand When you start at the beginning underfunding a public school system, you have a longer way to catch up to other states. There are a lot of reasons contributing to what’s happening in AZ Public Ed. NO Accountability in our expanded ESA’s are adding a lot of fuel to this fire.
@azesamemes@SuchSuchand If your child is special needs and requires accommodations that your district can’t provide, then I encourage you to make the choice you need to for your family. Regardless, receiving state funding should require the same regulations and hoops to jump through as public schools.
@SuchSuchand@azesamemes If the public schools in my district had the FULL FUNDING they need and could accommodate without burden all special needs kids, I would happily put her back, actually prefer to, but they’ve had to close 6 of my schools. So sorry your tweets are not the flex you think they are.
@SuchSuchand@azesamemes I am a proud public school parent. I also have a SPECIAL NEEDS child that is better served at a school that can better accommodate her, which is what the original intent of ESA’s was for.
Ahead of National Gun Violence Awareness Day, Assistant Democratic Leader @repngutierrez and Rep. Aaron Marquez read a proclamation in honor of Hadiya Pendleton, who was killed at age 15 in 2013 and inspired the #WearOrange movement.
@BrianTerry180@AZHouseDems The HOA’s still have some oversight. Residents are required to maintain structures. Also they have to be within reasonable design. So not bright orange or 32 feet high. This was stakeholdered with the HOA organizations to make sure we reached consensus.
A bill making its way through the state legislature would make sure Arizona homeowners are able to install the shade they want in their backyards, despite some HOA rules. #abc15 https://t.co/s3fG7HKF0z

A Desert Vista High School rising junior who was frustrated by dead links, outdated scholarship databases and scattered student resources decided to build his own solution — and now colleges and libraries are taking notice.

Happy Pride Month! 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
The power of Arizona’s LGBTQ+ community is in your visibility, your voice, and your pride. Never let anyone convince you otherwise.
Congratulations to Rep. Stacey Travers, one of several members with bills set to pass Final Read on the House Floor today. HB2342 is making its way to its final stop at Governor Hobbs' desk, bringing it one step closer to preventing HOA's from prohibiting homeowners from installing shade structures.
Last week, I helped lead the effort to pass the bipartisan BUILD America 250 Act out of the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee.
This five-year, $580 billion plan will repair & improve roads, bridges, & transit across Arizona & the country.
🧵Here's why it's a big deal...
When I knock on doors, one of the most mentioned issues is a lack of fast access to first responder and public safety resources. So happy and proud to now have a state of the art fire station in the foothills. Thanks @RepGregStanton and @MayorGallego!
Every second counts in an emergency. This morning I joined @PhxFire Chief Duran, @MayorGallego, & @PhxDistrict6 to open a brand new fire station in Ahwatukee.
Station 74 will help reduce response times & save lives. Proud to have secured $1 million in funding to get it done.
