For 40 years the file browser hasn’t changed.
Today, we’re launching with $8 million in seed funding to rebuild the file browser into something more intelligent, searchable, and delightful.
The world is in the middle of a data explosion. We’re generating and using more files than ever, but the apps we’re using to manage our files don’t even understand them.
It’s time for file browsers to become useful. When you search for “dog”, it should show you content with dogs in it, not just files with “dog” in the name! When you want to edit, convert, summarize, or organize a file, your browser should do that, too.
Your files tell the story of your life, but when you need a specific one, you usually can’t even find it anymore. Why can’t your file browser find it for you, or cross-reference it when you have a question? Prompting can give an LLM a million tokens of context. With Poly, you can give it the next trillion.
As long as we can afford it, all new users receive 100GB of free cloud storage. We can’t wait for you to try it out!
@tomjohndesign@GregHuntoon@ericmigi@Basedash …don’t get me wrong, I think it’s awesome but I find the lack of options in this space frustrating. Not saying it isn’t worth every cent but also agree there’s massive opportunity here. One can dream 🥺
@tomjohndesign@GregHuntoon@ericmigi@Basedash Absolutely understand that and I’ve been in roles where it’s a bargain but for us it’s a stretch. Feel like there’s a market for similar features that doesn’t appear to have any solutions currently. Also doesn’t provide scope to grow in to higher tiered pricing as needed…
@GregHuntoon@tomjohndesign@ericmigi@Basedash In a similar boat now finding alternatives to Looker Studio. Adding paid connectors + bigquery etc is still FAR cheaper than basedash but lots more work. Just started testing it & love it but hard to justify. We’re a medium size org & doubt I’d get it over the line at this price
@rowans_planet I’ve started checking out alternatives to Looker Studio that we use. Came across basedash but the price point seems high. Combine our paid connectors & bigquery costs is far less but obviously lots of manual work so an alternative for a small team would be nice 😔
@Kevin75890219@TheParraEels how'd you come up with 9 out of 10?? They've actually won 6 and lost 5 so far...

Guess it depends on your definition of success. I’d prefer if they’d won all 11 of course. Not thrilled about the last 3 but before that they’d won the majority in Darwin. Made a big difference to the fanbase in the NT so I imagine successfully grabbed a big chunk of new fans. So: won more than lost, new fans, financially good move. Yeah I’d say a success.

@BioavailableNd I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD and find this super interesting. Would this explain why I get horrible Restless Leg Syndrome flare ups if I take an antihistamine? I’ve never been able to take them without a night of agony. Or am I reading this wrong?
