🚨🎙️Nuno Mendes on his brilliant free-kick against Uzbekistan:
"We practice these situations in training. So when we won the free-kick, my first thought was that Cristiano would take it. But he looked at me and said, 'Go on, you've got this. Don't overthink it.'
Bruno came over as well and told me to take it.
The moment the ball hit the back of the net, I was really excited. Cristiano and Bruno were the first to run over and celebrate with me, and that made the goal even more special. It's a moment I'll never forget
Notice they didn't start this conversation about statpadding when Messi scored a hattrick against the mighty Algeria, but as soon as Ronaldo scores they immediately want to bring his achievements down
These are the types of people we deal with. This individual is 2 years younger than Ronaldo yet he is ranting with hatred live on television on a 41 year old man delivering for his country.
It's not journalism at this point, this is hatred and jealousy at the highest level.
This is not analysis. This is not journalism. This was a rant. The dude was fuming. He was too angry to even make sense. He was just saying things out of frustration
It's a shame these studios can't find people with decent ball knowledge and no bias to come on their shows. No wonder the ratings are plunging
No penalty for Ghana after that tackle? African teams are too humble, that’s their biggest weakness. Another player would’ve rolled around five times and screamed so the whole stadium could hear, forcing the ref to check VAR and see the clear penalty.
Anyone else find it interesting that CNC3 has made several posts about the Morvant man being robbed of gold jewellery, yet has posted nothing about US SEALs in T&T and their goal to "train the Coast Guard"?
Carlos Queiros, DT de Ghana: "Los del VAR se fueron a tomar un café. A mí también me gusta ir a tomar un café, pero fue un penal clarísimo y trajeta roja, o yo soy el único que estaba mirando el partido?"
Brazil is playing into Vini's strength, france with Mbappe, Norway with Haaland, England with Kane and every team plays to the strength of their goalscorer.
Scroll through their latest tweets and you will understand why they use Cristiano's name.
🚨 Reporter asks Cristiano Ronaldo about João Neves’ comments, the Golden Boot race, and his international future at the 2026 FIFA World Cup:
🗣️ Reporter: “Cristiano, João Neves recently said that despite everything you’ve achieved, you’re treated like just another player in the Portugal dressing room. What do you make of that statement?”
🗣️ Cristiano Ronaldo: “I think João is right. In this team, nobody is bigger than Portugal. It doesn’t matter if you’ve played one game or two hundred games, everyone has responsibilities and everyone is expected to contribute.”
“I don’t ask for special treatment and I’ve never wanted it. What matters is respect, hard work and doing your job for the team.”
“Of course I have more experience than most players here, so I try to help whenever I can. But when we’re on the pitch, we’re all fighting for the same badge and the same objective.”
🗣️ Reporter: “Lionel Messi is currently leading the World Cup scoring charts. Do you pay attention to that and does it motivate you to score more goals?”
🗣️ Cristiano Ronaldo: “I couldn’t care less about Messi. Mbappé has scored goals. Haaland has scored goals. Harry Kane has scored goals. Messi has scored goals. He’s just another player in this tournament trying to help his country win.”
“My focus is on Portugal. If I help the team with goals, assists or leadership, then I’ve done my job.”
“I’ve spent my entire career competing, but not chasing people. I focus on myself, my team and what I can control.”
“The World Cup isn’t decided by who leads the scoring chart after a few matches. It’s decided by who is still standing at the end.”
“If goals come, they come. If records come, they come. Right now, my only concern is helping Portugal keep winning.”
“I respect every great player in this competition, but I’m not here to follow anybody’s numbers. I’m here to help Portugal become world champions.”
🗣️ Reporter: “Do you intend to keep playing for a few more years? Could we even see you at the 2030 World Cup?”
🗣️ Cristiano Ronaldo: “I don’t know. Football has taught me never to look too far ahead.”
“What I can say is that I still feel good physically, I still enjoy competing, and I still feel I can help my teammates and my country.”
“As long as that feeling remains, I’ll continue playing. The day I feel I can no longer contribute at the level I expect from myself, I’ll be the first person to know.”
“But right now, my focus is not on 2030. My focus is on tomorrow, the next training session, the next match and helping Portugal in this World Cup.”
“People always want answers about five years from now. I prefer to focus on the present because that’s where football is played.”
“Will I be at the 2030 World Cup? I honestly don’t know. But I’ve learned in my career that when people think something is impossible, that’s usually when interesting things happen”.
