On Tuesday Mark Carney voted no on a motion that simply stated Canada is in an affordability crisis after 11 years of Liberal government.

Every other party voted yes. All 165 no votes came from Liberals. Carney was one of them. The motion failed 153 to 165.

His own parliamentary secretary prefers the softer phrasing of an “affordability challenge.”

Anyone who paid for groceries this week already knows which description matches the receipt.
