Lebanese journalist Amal Khalil was found dead after hours of searching under rubble. She was killed in an Israeli strike, after the Israeli army fired at ambulances trying to reach her, delaying her rescue.

She is the fourth journalist killed by Israel while in the field since 2 March.

She was a professional, kind and dedicated journalist, and always a pleasure to run into in the field.

Thread on the Salam government's attempts to obstruct Iran's cease-fire talks and prolong the war:
The “Salam government” will soon become a term that not only designates this current illegitimate administration in Lebanon, but acquires the force of political condemnation and disgrace, emerging as a new descriptor for forms of political treason that exceed the historical analogies typically invoked. Comparisons to Vichy or to the government of Mahmoud Abbas are analytically inadequate, since both were the product of occupation and, in the case of the former, defeat. What makes the Salam government historically unique, and necessitates a new conception of collaboration, is how it is actively defying military victory and the liberation of its territory while also relentlessly obstructing a ceasefire that Iran was on the brink of securing for Lebanon, pursuing instead a prolongation of the war, further occupation, and potentially annexation of that territory. 1/7

🟠التحريات أثبتت وقائع التحرش المتعددة التي تعرضت لها مريم من المتهم، ومحاولته تعريضها للخطر في واقعة سابقة بإلقاء الحجارة وجسم معدني عليها.

🟠 أحد شهود النفي، وهو زميل المتهم، قال للنيابة إن المجني عليها وضحت أثناء مواجهتها للمتهم في الأتوبيس أن وقائع التحرش ممتدة وأنه تحرش بها "بشكل متكرر على مدار أسبوع على كوبري في مسارها اليومي إلى ومن العمل".

🟠 قبل أن تلجأ مريم لتصوير المتهم؛ كانت قد غيرت طريقها اليومي للعمل لتتجنب ملاحقاته المستمرة، فما كان منه إلا أن تتبعها في الطريق البديل حتى داخل الأتوبيس الذي تستقله بشكل يومي، ممسكًا بتليفونه المحمول، ملقيًا على مسمعها تحرشًا بألفاظ جنسية، وتهديدات ساقها بينما يتظاهر بالتحدث مع شخص آخر عبر التليفون ويطلب منه ملاقاته عند محطة وصول المجني عليها لمشاركته في الاعتداء عليها.

🟠 واجهته مريم واتهمته بالتحرش بها. و بسبب فشل محاولاتها السابقة في طلب الحماية من المارة، اتهمته بسرقتها أملًا في تدخل باقي الركاب لحمايتها. وفي تلك المواجهة، وجه لها المتهم اعتداء لفظيًَا آخر، ولم يتحرك أي من الركاب لدعمها.
