@mathewogreen@joboaler@Stanford@misterwootube@teachNSW I’d be nervous too! I’d ask about a moment that made her first really see maths as beautiful…and then I’d probably try to work up the courage to talk to her about what we’re trying to achieve and ask if she could help us!
Ahhhh…@OldGuildfordPS you made our day! Thanks so much for sharing the things you’re doing and thinking! We really like that you’re having a ball and doing some hard thinking too. We look forward to the updates from your classrooms too!
Another great module as part of the Working with the Big Ideas PL. Our @OldGuildfordPS team had a ball unpacking the Big Ideas of Trusting the Count and Place Value through thought-provoking play. Thanks again @TregoningMich, @missalikhan & the team for another engaging PL!
@TregoningMich@johnqgoh@jkblue@missalikhan@K_Wootten I just checked out the Arabic translation. What a great resource for families to engage with their child’s learning. Schools could so easily share them on their school app. 👏
I think you’ll appreciate this update on the Everyday Maths Hub @johnqgoh. As always, there are plans afoot but it’s nice to share this milestone that many different teams helped achieve. Our inner mathematicians feel ☺️. You can find the resources here https://t.co/nJT0YnqQPN
@georgiac@rebeccalpalmer5@missalikhan @DoE_Mathematics Hi @georgiac! Dimitra might be able to share some insights too from her time in BNL. We don’t really give too much lead. For younger learners, we might use a different tool if metaphor isn’t accessible to them yet. You might also like this article https://t.co/QPSoPcBLZj
Celebrate #WomenInMaths Day on 12 May with a screening of the doco “Secrets of the Surface”, featuring mathematician Maryam Mirzakhani. The online/in-person event at @Sydney_Uni will be followed by talks w/ two mathematicians featured in the film.https://t.co/zoVmChnWl6 #May12WIM
We throughly enjoy preparing the PL and playing maths with some of our students... and we feel so pleased when we contribute to having sweaty-brained, happy and excited teachers taking mathematics! It’s a real joy!
Thoroughly enjoyed playing and engaging in sweaty brain work as part of the @DoE_Mathematics Working with the Big Ideas PL. Its so important to make maths fun and I’m excited to engage in this work with our students!
@KatinaPZ59 It's so nice to hear you and Wayne Sawyer talking about MeE and the FairGo Project. I find it hard to explain how impactful the FairGo Project was, and continues to be, in our every day work. It was delightful to learn from you both again! https://t.co/lv5Ad3JOqf
I feel so privileged to have been a teeny part of this story with you @CampbellfieldPS! You remind me that the effort and discomfort is always worthwhile. Such lovely and caring stories you share @annemathswatson - thank you for writing this book!
@r_nd_rgh @missalikhan@attard_c@jkblue Posted the wrong picture the first time around. I knocked the board before I took the pic and initially put the wrong tile there 🤦🏻♀️🤷♀️
Today's lunch time fun (take 2) - an episode of "Mabble: battle royale!" It's @missalikhan's turn...what would you suggest if you were part of Ayesha's team @attard_c? (We feel like you might have some insights 😊) What are you thinking @jkblue?
