BREAKING: Committee Chair @William_Wragg accuses members of the government of "intimidation" of MPs.
"The reports of which I am aware would seem to constitute blackmail. As such it would be my general advice to colleagues to report these matters to the... Metropolitan Police."
It was a pleasure to serve on the Loan Charge APPG with Sir David and like so many other MPs across the House, I hope to continue some of the work he championed on behalf of all of our constituents. (2/2)

Sir David Amess was a friend to all. I never heard him say a bad word about anyone. He was tremendous fun, could be relied upon to cheer us up and had the best stories going. A dedicated MP who cared deeply for others. What a loss. How we shall all miss him.
Dreadful news about Sir David Amess, who was a member of the APPG. The thoughts of all of us are with Sir David’s family, friends, colleagues & constituents,

FOI revelations are exposing the shameful reality of the #LoanCharge & the way Parliament has been misled over it.

@gregwrightYP@yorkshirepost Greg many congratulations on this award, well deserved for all of your excellent reporting. Thanks especially from all affected by the #LoanChargeScandal, not only for keeping this in the public eye but also for keeping our moral up in dark times. Your family must be very proud.
Delighted and deeply honoured to receive this wonderful award! I dedicate it to all my superb colleagues at @yorkshirepost and everyone affected by the #loancharge#mortgageprisoners and #excludeduk scandals. Thank you to the team from Skipton Building Society for picking it up!
“Late to the Party”
Steve Packham, founding member of the Loan Charge Action Group acknowledges that although “late to the party”, action being taken by Sir Keir Starmer and the Labour Shadow Treasury to meet and discuss the “true injustice” of the Loan Charge is now welcome.
Thanks @DerekTwiggMP the 126th Parliamentarian to sign the open letter to the PM & Chancellor urging a resolution to the #LoanChargeDebacle.
The many FOI revelations are exposing the reality of the #LoanChargeScandal & the way Parliament has been misled over the #LoanCharge.
A man affected by #loancharge who said he has to find £200,000 to settle: "My participation..was declared by the scheme operator and by myself on my tax returns. I feel ashamed and cannot tell my children why and so carry this stress and guilt alone." @loanchargeAPPG
UK Govt has said it will follow the science for COVID
but is the UK Govt mentally agile enough to take new evidence on board?
New evidence against the #Loancharge undermines the policy, HMRC's stance and the independent review.

Thanks @BenPBradshaw the 117th Parliamentarian to sign the open letter to @BorisJohnson & @RishiSunak urging a resolution to the #LoanChargeDebacle following FOI revelations that further expose the #LoanChargeScandal & the way Parliament has been misled.

@Stephen41792571 I disagree. I think that these internal documents show clearly that HMRC frankly recognise that they were a part of the problem.
Of course, their general refusal to accept the point in public is a different matter.
