So lovely to see this reunion! Well done, Sav and Devindi for a great start to the day. Good luck for the next two debates @oxschools@TrentCoCu@TrentCollege
Lovely to meet up with OT debating legend Jack, who is helping to run the Oxford Finals day today. Current top two Sav and Devindi won their second debate and are heading into the lunch break on a high! @TrentCollege@OldTridents@TrentHistPol
Y12/13 - want to flex your political skills? Engage with some research and writing? Engage with a key academic body of our subject? The @PolStudiesAssoc have you sorted as always. Get stuck in! Deadline 25 May, but don't be a deadline junkie!
I genuinely think one of the best things I’ve done as a teacher is debating. It’s so freeing to teach pupils to think, listen and have faith in their own voices without the need to memorise answers or hit exam specifications.
Well done to all of our pupils at the Nottm Uni Debating competition today. They have been brilliant! Just waiting to see if we are in the finals... @TrentCollege@TrentHistPol
This picture may not seem very exciting, but look closely and you'll see the 9 teams representing Trent today at the Nottm Uni Debating Competition... our first fully live one for 2 years! It's great to be back. @TrentCollege@TrentHistPol
Y13 - one of the ways you can get top grades is to analyse and evaluate change over time. Given that abortion is at the Suoreme Court, knowing history of it would be really useful for essays on their power, rights, Constitution (interpretation) etc. So get stuck in!
A great day of debating @warwickuni and some of my favourite motions to really get everyone thinking. Round 4 was especially tough, even for a Politics teacher! A huge well done to all who who took part @TrentCollege
Well done to all @TrentCollege speakers. Checked in for @warwickuni debating competition by 8.45am on an exeat. I applaud your dedication and am looking forward to an exciting day of debating!
Thank you to Josh from @LASARcentre for running a fantastic session with some of of Y10 and Y11 High Achievers today on ‘Caring for our planet’ @TrentCollege
A wonderful evening spent with Academic Forum, MedSoc, Scientists and EPQ pupils from Y13 presenting their work to younger pupils and staff at our annual Academic Showcase, emphasising the breadth and depth of their fabulous research. @TrentCollege@TrentSixthForm#gofurther
