@versatileyankee I wouldn't say it's greater. I think a key difference is that back then all you had was the Roman Catholic church. Nowadays, there are freedom of options, though many are under the umbrella of "protestant". But protestant is a term, a label, and does not equal the true church.

@BrandonLansdown I often speak of this issue by considering a person with a pornography or sex addiction. If they were to get married we don't tell them to permanently abstain from sex since it may cause them to stumble. We disciple them to control their urges and desires. Why not have the man/
