The penultimate bottle. I'm pretty torn about this. This is by far the best beer I've ever made. The vanilla is nearly gone but the cinnamon and creaminess shines through.
Celebrating Labor Day weekend with my two favorite hobbies. Work has had me so busy that I haven't brewed in 7 weeks. That is foreeeveeer for me. Happy to have something fermenting again and to have some good food for next week! Brewing a British Golden Ale.
I haven't brewed in well over a month. 53-55 hour work weeks are wearing on me. I had a recipe in mind using mainly Maris Otter, all English hops and English yeast. Come to figure out, that's a British Golden Ale for the most part. I'm excited to have something fermenting again!
Told my wife I was going to the liquor store after work for some weekend beers. She said no, look in the fridge first. Aaaaand, she picked me up a bottle of CBS!
This many beers on tap calls for a flight or two. I finally made it out to @CreaturesBrew. They had a great selection of to-style beers as well as other fun beers such as a strawberry rhubarb blonde and blood orange pale.
Freshly kegged Helles. Flavor seems right. No off flavors detected, but I'll have a panel smarter than me confirm that Sunday! π Excited to see where it goes once it lagers, cools, and carbonates. It seems solid.
Blown away by these scores... this was my first time brewing this and my 4th lager in general. It didn't place but I am hopeful for next year! I knew I had made something special the second I tried it out of the keg.
