@Sophie_Corson I definitely think it's amazing and so important to learn more about SPED, I really enjoyed when others in the class were also able to add onto what was presented to us. Can't wait to use what we've learned for future students with accommodations #EDUC200#04Sp22
@zoefloyd22@SaraMDroz I was gonna say the same thing about the inner 3 lvls. It was cool to hear the different guesses, but most interestingly how most of us couldn't guess operational belongs to the student and their ability to do wuts asked of them. #EDUC200#04Sp22
@kmansfield2112 This discussion was so interesting to me. As my group and I looked through out textbook it was genuinely astonishing seeing the disparities between how important white men were portrayed compared to African Americans or other minorities. #EDUC200#04Sp22
Teachers! Repeat after me:
I will not have my students make "Indian" feathers/clothes.
I will not culturally appropriate an entire people for "cute" activities.
I will tell my students the truth about this country's relationship with Indigenous people.

@AlyssaDyke1 I totally agree with how you felt about the impact of poverty on reading skills. It really made me think about how many privileges I had with my early education years & learning to read at a young age. The stats were quite chilling as a future & hopeful educator. #04Sp22#EDUC200
@stratman_olivia I really enjoyed the APA citation activity we did in our groups! I had never heard of the sandwich metaphor @LocalSmartsEdu used for writing in-text citations, but it was the simplest&best explanation/metaphor that I will always remember from now on to avoid plagiarism. #04Sp22
In class today we continued the work and discussion of our historical timeline, and determined which theme our Education Hall of Famers fell in. When my peers talked about what books they had read in earlier yrs for school, I was able to relate to a lot of them. #EDUC200#04Sp22
Last class we worked together on a historical timeline, incorporating people from the EDUC Hall of Fame. We connected these timeline events to alternative paradigms of American curriculum and I appreciated my peers perspectives on them from their own early Ed yrs #EDUC200#04Sp22
@MaeWill40678845 This discussion was so mind-opening to me. Until looking deeper into the articles we read prior to class, I had never imagined we would still be in a world where POC still have to be hypervigilant when out in society today! #04Sp22#EDUC200
@yasminadaviss The list we had to refer back to was out of this world to me, I never realized what simple things that we experience everyday could be considered privileges. And I agree, listening to our classmates experiences was extremely insightful and gave me new povs. #04Sp22#EDUC200
Today in #EDUC200, we discussed the 5 Google Norms and connected their purpose and meaning through a John Spaulding quote about believing in and supporting each other. #04Sp22
