Maybe a platform built on engagement from people who can't shut the fuck up/need to be right all the time is a bad place to consume breaking news about Israel and Palestine.
Don’t be fooled by oil companies’ selective micro-truths in their climate change ads — here’s what they’re intentionally leaving out while claiming to make greener moves (with @emorwee + @ariellesamuel)

Brandon Williams broke his campaign promise to oppose national abortion bans. Now he is all-in on using the federal government to tell women in New York what they can and can’t do with their bodies.
We need to defeat him & elect a representative with honesty & integrity. #NY22
NEW: For months, Carbon Brief has been investigating #CarbonOffsets
Today, we publish a special series interrogating every aspect of this often murky practice
To start, here’s an in-depth Q&A on whether carbon offsets can help to tackle climate change

I’m down at the border now, there are several hundred people sleeping in the cold desert tonight. We have them supplied with water and spaghetti os, but resources are running low. If folks could donate to @BorderKindness it would really help to keep people fed and sheltered
The report is horrifying. This is an attempt to silence our voices. We must hold lawmakers accountable for their failures to protect us. No amount of threats can stop the defending of our planet. We need international community and more young activists to come out in support of the victims to strengthen our movement. They win means we will lost our planet. We win means we will save our planet.
Our city is home to over 100 billionaires. Literally billions of financial transactions take place here every single day.
It is wildly cruel and unnecessary to balance our budget by squeezing the New Yorkers already experiencing poverty.
My statement on marching to #EndFossilFuels today. Text in🧵
This afternoon, I will continue to use my voice to combat the climate emergency. I will join the March to end Fossil Fuels in New York City. 1/
New York State has a Democratic supermajority.
There is no reason why Democrats can’t #EndFossilFuels in New York and pass these critical bills in 2024:
✅Climate Change Superfund Act
✅NY HEAT Act
✅JETA in 2024
City Hall's failure to manage and staff City agencies has decimated essential services for the most vulnerable NYers.
Mayor's Management Report found only 29% of applications for cash assistance were processed on time (82% last year) & just 40% for food stamps (60% last year).
I still don't think people grasp how bonkers this is. The government signs off on a consumer-facing label that promises a 10% reduction in emissions in beef, but wants reporters and researchers to FOIA the science behind the claim., and yet they expect consumers to accept it.
To my fellow Italians pretending this immigrant wave is different: The Times called our fore bearers (ppl falsely accused of crimes and killed by a racist mob) ruffians, murderers, bandits and assassins. Then compared them to rattlesnakes. Let’s not be part of that cycle.
Democrats aren't going to give up their incumbency advantage and throw away their most legislatively productive president since LBJ. Sorry. It's not happening.
Can the media stop obsessing over this idea?
