Στην στρατηγική της εθνικής ασφάλειας επικεντρώθηκε στην ομιλία του ο υπουργός Εθνικής Άμυνας, Νίκος Δένδιας, κατά τη διάρκεια του συνεδρίου «Μεταπολίτευση 1974-2024: 50 Χρόνια Ελληνική Εξωτερική Πολιτική», ενώ έστειλε και έμμεσα μηνύματα προς το Μαξίμου για τους όρους που γίνεται η διαπραγμάτευση στα εθνικά ζητήματα.

Αρχικά ο υπουργός Εθνικής Άμυνας ανέφερε ότι «η Τουρκία σιγά σιγά στο τέλος και πιο φανερά στην αρχή της δεύτερης δεκαετίας μετέβαλλε πορεία και άρχισε αντί να συγκλίνει να αποκλίνει από το ευρωπαϊκό κεκτημένο. Αν η Τουρκία αύριο το πρωί ως δια μαγείας αποδεχόταν το σύνολο του ευρωπαϊκού κεκτημένου το 90% των προβλημάτων μας θα είχε επιλυθεί. Η Τουρκία θα είχε αποδεχτεί το ευρωπαϊκό δίκαιο της θάλασσας και κατά συνέπεια τους κανόνες επί τη βάση των οποίων θα μπορούσε να είχε επιλυθεί η ελληνοτουρκική διαφορά στο Αιγαίο και στην Ανατολική Μεσόγειο».

«Η Τουρκία διευρύνει την ατζέντα των αξιώσεών της»
Παράλληλα, πρόσθεσε ότι «δεν βρεθήκαμε στον παράδεισο στον 21ο αιώνα. Βρεθήκαμε αντίθετα σε μια επιστροφή σε εποχές γεωπολιτικού ανταγωνισμού. Τελικά, επέστρεψε ο πόλεμος στην Ευρώπη και τον κόσμο, η Τουρκία τείνει πλέον προς νεοοθωμανικά πρότυπα τοπικής ηγεμονίας. Τελείως διαφορετικά από εκείνα που ελπίζαμε. Μάλιστα, σιγά σιγά διευρύνει την ατζέντα των αξιώσεών της απέναντι στην πατρίδα μας. Προς αποφυγή παρερμηνειών, όπως έκανα και όταν ήμουν υπουργός εξωτερικών, τονίζω ότι πρέπει να μιλάμε με την Τουρκία, όμως μιλάμε σημαίνει θέτουμε πάντοτε τα απαράδεκτα των Τουρκικών θέσεων. Περιμένουν να τα ακούσουν άλλωστε κάθε φορά».
Επίσης, είπε ότι «το casus belli είναι διεθνές απαράδεκτο, δεν υπάρχει άλλη χώρα που να έχει εκδώσει απειλή πολέμου κατά γειτονικής χώρας εάν αυτή η χώρα ασκήσει νόμιμα δικαιώματα. Βεβαίως, το τουρκολιβυκό μνημόνιο το οποίο είναι ανυπόστατο και ανύπαρκτο».
Τέλος, ο Νίκος Δένδιας είπε ότι «μια διαπραγμάτευση χωρίς κανέναν κανόνα, δεν είναι διαπραγμάτευση. Μπορεί να είναι ποίηση, να είναι λογοτεχνία. Δεν είναι διαπραγμάτευση».

In Aleppo, the children of our relatives and their families are living in great danger. Their lives are at risk, abandoned to face their fate. Last month, they marked the tragic memory of the 1850 massacre in Aleppo, where Christian neighborhoods were destroyed. One of the reasons for this tragedy was the support Antiochian Greeks in Aleppo gave to the Greek Revolution.

Even though borders separate us, the blood that was spilled in Aleppo is the same blood that was spilled in the fight for Greece. It is the blood of our ancestors, who stayed united as Greeks, as Orthodox Christians, and as defenders of the Hellenic identity. For centuries, we have suffered oppression—under the Ottomans and during Islamic rule—because we never gave up our connection to Constantinople and the rest of Greece.

Today, the Christians of Aleppo stand alone. The regime has abandoned our neighborhoods, leaving us to face these challenges on our own. But we have not forgotten you. Even under centuries of persecution, we kept our faith, our names, and our Byzantine heritage alive. We always stayed loyal to Greece, even when it cost us dearly.

We now call on you, our brothers and sisters in faith and heritage, to act. Aleppo was once the greatest Christian city in the Levant, a center of Hellenic culture, faith, and art. Do not let it fall. Use all of Greece’s diplomatic strength to protect the Christians of Aleppo. Work with the nations—Turkey, the United States, and others—to ensure that this ancient community survives.

The children of Aleppo, whose ancestors supported Greece in its darkest times, are counting on you. The blood in their veins is the same as yours. Their future is tied to yours, as it always has been.

2) The Minister of Foreign Affairs to raise the issue at the upcoming NATO Foreign Ministers' meeting.
3) Greek Diplomacy to seek the imposition of EU sanctions on Turkey for the destabilizing role it plays in #Syria, which endangers Christians living there and beyond, as well as for increasing migration flows to the EU.
4) The EU to freeze Turkey's accession process and all European funds until its occupying forces withdraw from Syria.
5) Greek and European support, following the model of assistance to Ukraine, for the forces resisting the Turkish-backed terrorists and the Turkish occupation.

Foreign policy should not have double standards. It is time for an honest discussion about Turkey’s role in destabilizing the Middle East.

Erdogan’s foreign policy began as a bold, rebellious, neo-Ottoman vision—an ambitious attempt to restore Turkey’s influence over former Ottoman territories. However, this vision was eventually co-opted to serve Western interests in the region. What proved intolerable to the West, however, was Erdogan’s growing hostility toward Israel, exemplified by incidents like the Mavi Marmara crisis.

The turning point came in 2016. On a fateful night, Erdogan found himself on the brink of elimination during the coup attempt. Forced to plead with his people over FaceTime—appearing like a character pulled from a bad parody—he narrowly escaped an assassination attempt by commandos at his resort in Marmaris. That night, the old Erdogan died.

The message from the West was clear: opposition to Israel’s agenda was unacceptable. Erdogan capitulated almost immediately. Since then, his resistance has been reduced to little more than hollow rhetoric. His behavior over the past 13 months underscores this transformation. Despite fiery speeches, Turkey continued to supply oil to Israel without interruption, and Erdogan has worked to undermine Assad—one of Israel’s staunchest adversaries in the region.

Critics are right to point out that the United States and Israel benefit most from these developments. Yet, their success would have been far harder to achieve without Turkey’s willing participation. Turkey has become a hub for militant state-sponsored Islamism, with its influence stretching from Syria through Central Asia to China’s Xinjiang region.

It is Turkey that targets so-called “Turkish brother nations” with a toxic blend of radical Islamism, revisionist history, pan-Turkism, and victimhood propaganda. This strategy not only extends Turkey’s influence but also radicalizes individuals, turning them into tools for Western geopolitical objectives. The infamous Crocus terrorist attack in Moscow, for instance, was traced back to Turkish training camps.

Meanwhile, the jihadis left festering in Idlib have been unleashed once more, spreading chaos across Syria as they did a decade ago. This chaos is not incidental—it is cultivated, supported, and funded by the Turkish state. Under Erdogan, Turkey has become the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism, a willing accomplice in advancing the U.S. Empire’s objectives in the region.

The rest of Erdogan’s posturing is mere theater—smoke and mirrors designed to deceive only those still willing to believe in a dream that has long since died.

From Moscow to Beijing, it’s time to face this reality.
