@FTC Looking forward to submitting a comment. Non compete clauses affected my parents several times while I was growing up. This oftentimes meant moving cities or states for a new job or my parents commuting 4+ hours a day to work in order to care for us kids.
Now would be a great time for @Spotify to create their own ticketing platform that gives you priority in a queue based on how often you’ve listened to an artist
On the cover of the latest @nymag: This Magazine Will Help You Get An Abortion. A wildly ambitious, incredibly useful, regularly updated access map and much more practical reporting from @thecut, with an introduction from me https://t.co/1BxOavyFKH
The average rent in the US hit a new record high of $1,827 last month. On the federal minimum wage of $7.25 people take home $1256 a month. People aren't exaggerating when they say it's becoming unlivable here.
My mom went to CVS wearing a mask, so they asked her if she wanted some free masks. They gave her two boxes of N95s –– there are 440 (!) 3M Auras in each box. lol
That media talks about baby formula shortage w/o knowing whats going on is amazing. Trump's USMCA restricted imports of formula from Canada, so we imported no formula from Canada in 2021, leaving us vulnerable to domestic shock. The shock hit when Abbott plant was contaminated.
Instead of "Dems fail to pass abortion bill," shouldn't the headline be something like: "Senate Republicans kill abortion rights that nearly 70% of Americans say in polls they want"?
The treatment for an ectopic pregnancy, a septic uterus, or a miscarriage that your body won’t release is abortion. If you can’t get those abortions, you die.
You. Die.
It is a little hard for me to take the hand-wringing about non-violent protests outside the homes of Supreme Court Justices seriously when the Supreme Court itself ruled protests outside the homes of *doctors who provide abortions* is protected by the 1st amendment.
The fact the political establishment was so spooked by protests at Kavanaugh’s home that, within hours, they passed a bill to expand security for SCOTUS is actually further evidence that protesting at their homes is effective
When you take away a woman’s right to make her own decisions about her health and well-being, she is no longer a full citizen of this country. She no longer has freedom, she no longer has bodily autonomy, and she no longer has basic civil rights. Here’s one way we fight back:
I am angry because an extremist Supreme Court thinks they can impose their extremist views on all of the women of this country and they are wrong.
I have seen the world where abortion is illegal. We’re not going back—not now, not ever.
