13th–14th centuries - Maharashtra:
The Vārkari tradition grew around saints such as Jñāneśvara and Nāmdev, followed later by Tukaram, whose Marathi abhangs carried devotion to the masses.

15th–16th centuries - Bengal & North India:
Śrī Chaitanya transformed Krishna-bhakti into an ecstatic devotional movement, while figures such as Kabir, Mirabai, Surdas and Tulsidas gave Bhakti powerful voices across northern India.

And Tamilakam was one of its earliest and most influential centres.🕉
