@JiujitsuOtter On vacation, drop in local place. Ask for loaner gear. Coach asks me what belt, say purple but I miss white, so he gives me white. Smashed the white and blues, kept up with the purples. Everyone with surprised pikachu face, “how long you train & where?!” Tfw you’re the sandbagger
@D_The_Husband 2 yrs ago I was 185
Started creatine, gained 10lbs doing absolutely nothing different
Last year I weighed in ~198 in a 196-208 bracket, whew. They made me wish I cut a few
I don’t disagree with your statement but.. 2-3lbs for an easier time isn’t asking toooo much of ourselves
@zillaah707 Finally used this recipe. Flavor was great but peeling the thin dough from parchment was a pain, need to look into getting a press and work on the griddle time. It was easier putting cheese in the center and folding in half for lazy empanadas hah thanks again
@D_The_Husband The ONE gold I ever got was from a walkover. 6 mos in, zero prior experience. Would have been hella funny to get bronze in a 1-man division for looking like an idiot
@ScipioArizonas saw this the other day. Might only work if your name is CJ.. hitchhiker is risky, getting your body parallel with theirs is bit safer. I try to get their lower leg trapped between mine, turn into em, come up to side ctrl. My elbows also take long to heal

@Bow_B4_BJJ Getting to T kimura is one of my fav positions. Got the scissor choke, roll through to still get the kimura - but that can be tough with their far arm swatting your foot away

@D_The_Husband Enter Sandman
Find a decent image of a rear naked choke (not this one prob) and clip the bodies out
But you shop Hetfield’s face on the person with back control
@BjjTip I’ve developed a bad habit of sorts where from the Russian tie or two on one I’ll step on their same side foot. Not stomp, but put pressure on it to make it harder for them to dance around with me and start repummeling
@BernardoFariaJJ It’s a disadvantage when the hobby looks like an addiction to other people. We feel a need to train more and harder to make up for lost time since we didn’t start earlier. But Tom sums it up nicely here.
Do you remember when you joined X? I do! #MyXAnniversary
Only vague memories of 15 yrs ago. Quit drinking 8 yrs ago. I wish bjj was on my radar back then!
@Bow_B4_BJJ I didn’t find one by Ryan on yt but whatever he learned, he got it from Danaher. Break mechanic here is pretty much the same as I was attempting to describe. Not fool proof of course, situationally dependent, but a very strong break

@Bow_B4_BJJ I’ll be keeping my chicken wings tucked tight, you’re not slipping feet in for the x break. Ryan has some instructionals on this. Keep a kimura grip on their arm, post your elbow inside the thigh. Crank their arm away, leaning into it, opposite of where their palm is facing
