A survivor-led global org. Our Founder @RanisVoice speaks for those without a voice and demands that survivors R heard & given a seat at the table 2 #endslavery
Today is human trafficking awareness day in the US. We want to take a moment to reflect on all the lives lost, spirits broken and rebuilt, and the everyday courage that survivors summon to get up and live. #thankyousurvivors#wearewithyou#todayisaboutyou
"We are here now, not defined by what has happened to us, but looking ahead. We want to walk forward into leadership..." "We have dreams as survivors. Ask us what we want to do & help us overcome the barriers to get there" @Survivorsvoic @survivorallian1 at last week's workshop
Sometimes people ask us why survivors should be paid for their input. Because input = expert guidance and information; and expert guidance and info = expertise; and as a society, we pay all kinds of people for their expertise. Their expertise as cobblers, football players, etc.
.@minhspeakstruth - “Too often survivors find they are used as case studies or by the media in the name of raising awareness, but their experiences and views need to be at the centre of any policy being created to respond to their needs.” https://t.co/ZaCcRjn5zB @rightsbeacon
