Privilege to see Iron Maiden again in Birmingham last night...legends in their 50th year! Played a classic set, including my fave The Clairvoyant and a remarkable Rime of the Ancient Mariner. Dave Murray, Steve Harris and Bruce outstanding.
📚 It's always nice to turn up and get a new book - this time, my latest.
Author copies have arrived, and it feels like a long journey has finally finished. More posting and details when it's officially released 👀
Betty Webb MBE
It is with great sadness that today, the Bletchley Park Trust has learnt that Charlotte (Betty) Webb MBE has passed away at the age of 101. Her contributions to Bletchley Park, during World War Two and to ensuring its legacy today, will never be forgotten. https://t.co/K6EeVOZ00E
Huge shoutout to @TrooperAbs and @bletchleypark for this conference. Strongly recommend friends, colleagues, and fellow intelligence historians/enthusiasts who missed this inaugural event to keep an eye out for the next one! I look forward to many more!
The theme of @bletchleypark and @GCHQ’s magnificent first intelligence history conference was “People in Intelligence,” so I discussed the role of the American people in shaping US intelligence history. Amazing conference with a great group!
The first National Intelligence History Conference, held at Bletchley Park in conjunction with @GCHQ, has come to a close. It has been a truly amazing three days - full of engaging talks, interesting conversations, and many connections made.
Thank you to all those who presented or attended. We hope to see you again. #NIHC
#TBT Imagine a disk cipher the size of a pocket watch! ⏱️ In the 1920s, Alexander Von Kryha invented tiny but powerful cipher machines, including the 3.5" Liliput.
Fun Fact: William Friedman cracked the Kryha cipher in just 2 hours & 41 minutes!
