@DreGhost___@LewisEFur@castanton@ABC And many women take all the steps they can. But when a baby has a painful fetal anomaly that won't allow it to survive outside the womb, where do you see the mercy in prolonging its suffering an extra five months just to let it die in the open air?
PS abortions aren't "shredding"
I have funding for a student, graduate or undergraduate, enrolled in a biological illustration or art program, to come to @MarineBiol_FHL for the Fall Quarter. Room, board, and lab fees for the 10 week quarter.
Application for this #sciart opportunity drops soon.
New paper alert!
We've been observing marsh herbivores in #mangrove encroached habitats for years, but just because they're still there doesn't mean they're unaffected. Thrilled to get this work out and fit another piece into the mangove encroachment effects puzzle

Interview in @MiamiHerald on some recent research out of @FIU Aquatic Ecology Lab.
Keep those exotic species in their tanks people. The invasives we already have in the #Everglades are bad, but there's always the potential for the next one to be worse.

Rescuing hundreds of rare cacti for replanting that grow no place else in the US except South Texas as the state-funded border wall destroys thousands of acres of habitat for a fence that will do nothing to stop true criminals or cartels.
@JustMikeAgain@ABC Not aborted ≠ live birth. Some of these abortions would have terminated miscarriages or pregnancies with lethal fetal anomalies like this story in a way that was more safe and compassionate for the mother. You're focusing on the process and ignoring the outcome.
In light of the laws passed in Tennessee and those extremely likely to pass in Texas and elsewhere:
CISGENDER FACULTY IN RED STATES MUST INFORM NEW POTENTIAL QUEER GRADUATE STUDENTS OF THE LAWS THAT WILL IMPACT THEM.
New paper alert 🚨
How did rocky reef fishes in MPAs respond to the 2014-2016 pacific marine heatwave?
Working with @CCFRP, we found that MPAs buffered the loss of predatory fishes & fish communities recovered 75% faster than in areas open to fishing.

Check out our new paper from the AleutBio mission last year! The abyssal Bering Sea is more heterogenous than we thought, and we were able to see some pretty amazing animals at depth🪱⭐️🥒🐌🐙
Hope that Damar will be have a chance to see the difference he's made, hope that you can make a difference in your own community too. If you're financially able, please find a cause you care about and make a donation in Damar's name or your own just to spread some hope tonight.
It's a scary night to be a #Bills fan. Hoping #DamarHamlin makes a full recovery, and if you want to show support his gofundme for a hometown toy drive is still open https://t.co/oXQpR97CDB
But here and elsewhere, please don't let charity spring from tragedy, but from hope (1/2)
@goodman_donald@fox35orlando Also the vaccine does have health risks for people with certain allergies or conditions, but those risks are actually less than those associated with other commonly prescribed medications like Viagra or birth control
@goodman_donald@fox35orlando Wanted to clarify that while hospitals do get paid more by Medicare for COVID patients, that money doesn't go to doctors, so they have no reason to falsely mark people as having COVID! (https://t.co/vgNN4gfOnv, https://t.co/CWWSGKDi7b)

@eslehmberg One of my favorite things is old scientific drawings, which are often WILDLY inaccurate and you can tell are the result of natural historians staring at museum specimens trying their best. I appreciate the effort, but can't help but laugh at the results.
Like this mammoth.
