@gregbradyx That’s my point. If you’re a fan, travelling in from far, with kids - you’d buy these. I did. It ensures your entry and spot. It isn’t worth it - event should be “free” for what’s offered. Great event, but nothing offered there is worth the $$ being charged to get in.
There’s a real gift in showing the truth. As much as it hurts. Sobriety is difficult. A battle every day. Pressures surround you constantly. Guilt is always knocking. More folks need to understand this to accept the ones who choose the sober path. Lift them up, always help
Canada has free healthcare.
Canada also has a 53.5% top marginal tax rate in Ontario.
If you earn CAD 500,000, you're giving CAD 267,500 to the government.
That's enough to buy private health insurance for 267 Canadians.
You're paying for everyone else's free healthcare.
You have a sitting President who using this same strategy. Hate it or love it, ppl will see the original and discuss as fact. It works. It’s dirty, but works. The Heir of “Fake News” is also the seller. Love, laugh …
@madelinite@gregbradyx I was willing to pay to not wait in line in downtown Toronto. That’s what parents do. Privilege or not. It was all closed for private function. A “free” event - shouldn’t be closed for private anything. It’s a tax payer funded event
@madelinite@gregbradyx We showed up @ 9am, opened at 12. Lineup by open @ CanadaHouse was 2hr wait. We got in. Every “worth” event, closed for private function. FIFA event - ppl still trying to get thru the “free” line @ end of game. You cannot offer “free” then paid, then “free” that’s a locals only
@madelinite@gregbradyx No, that was the original rollout. Moved to a paid entries for guaranteed access before launch. Night before game they’d “release” a group of “free” tickets. Cornering the travelling-to-event market
@GradySas Take fandom away. Had He not been made available, the team would’ve been set to play to a more distinct/aggressive style. The ‘sit back and wait till He can sub on’ approach wouldn’t be available. It worked because He played. Stopped working when he couldn’t. Case closed
Zlatan Ibrahimović on Canada qualifying for the FIFA World Cup Round of 16 for the first time ever:
🗣️ “This is why people fall in love with football. Today wasn't just about Canada qualifying for the Round of 16 it was about an entire nation creating history that nobody can ever take away.”
“I looked at the faces of the Canadian players after the final whistle. Some were crying, some couldn't believe what had just happened. Those weren't tears of weakness; they were tears of people who had spent their whole lives dreaming of this exact moment.”
“To the supporters, never let anyone tell you football is just a game. I saw families celebrating, children hugging their parents and fans singing with tears in their eyes. These are the moments that unite a country forever.”
“People will remember the goals and the result, but they'll never understand the sacrifices behind it. Years of criticism, disappointments, injuries and pressure have all led to one unforgettable night. That's what makes history so beautiful.”
“For every Canadian player wearing that shirt tonight, remember this feeling. You are no longer just footballers you are the generation that changed your country's football story forever. Every child who picks up a ball tomorrow will believe because of what you achieved today.”
“The knockout stage doesn't care about history, reputation or big names. It rewards courage, belief and those who refuse to give up. Canada earned this moment because they never stopped believing when the rest of the world doubted them.”
“And to the fans, celebrate like there's no tomorrow because nights like these don't come often. Years from now, people won't ask where you watched the match they'll ask how it felt to witness the night Canada reached the Round of 16 for the very first time.”
“This is bigger than football. This is the night an entire nation stopped dreaming about history and started living it.”
@gregbradyx Took my family (Wife + 2 boys 10,11) to fan festival and Canada Soccer yesterday. Opened at Noon. Free soccer pitch was “closed” for private event 12-4. Blow up waterfront pitch? Closed 12-4. Very bummed out boys. Paid FIFA prices, delivery? - underwhelming. Don’t waste your $$
