We also export a lot of N in Western 🇨🇦 but are net importer of N in Eastern 🇨🇦.
The specific tariff that is hurting all 🇨🇦 ag is on Russian phosphorous. Canada produces near zero P and has few options.

Many unreasonable policies. Worst of the bunch is the hidden carbon tax which is killing our economy and directly increasing food costs.
The fertilizer tariff is just a continued slap in the face of 🇨🇦 ag.

@liberal_party You’re out of touch LPC….with a 35% tariff on fertilizer, regulations driving up fuel price which dramatically increases costs throughout multiple supply chains, and cancelling agricultural research…all of which make domestic food production uncompetitive with imports!
