The paradox recurses one level down. Inside every tenant boundary, the people making the corrections face the same asymmetry, their know-how compounds in a loop they don’t control and can’t carry with them. Firm-level sovereignty without person-level sovereignty just moves the extraction indoors 🤦‍♂️

Completely agree, and I think it goes a step further. A workspace that emerges at scale to coordinate specialist subsystems isn’t just an elegant trick, it’s the beginnings of a nervous system for a predictive agent. The tell is in the paper itself: the J-space is wired roughly 100x more densely than everything around it, and it’s where the self-monitoring lives (WARNING, fake, honest, integrity). That’s a regulation layer, not a scratchpad. Predictive processing has been circling this for years, an agent needs one shared channel to hold its best guess of what’s going on and broadcast it to everything else. Drift is what happens when what’s loaded comes apart from what’s real. So the frontier isn’t whether the workspace exists, it’s who gets to govern what loads into it.

I have finally finished the jigsaw, and you are the person I most want to put it in front of,
because the heart of it is the thing you have spent your career proving by living it. You have
always bucked the trend of Silicon Valley, even though you were seeded there, from the big big
American lands to small UK borders, and I would love your help securing sovereignty.
What I have built is, at its core, an inverse private-equity incubator. Private equity extracts value
and keeps the leverage. This does the opposite. It is additive rather than extractive, it carries
people through a rebirth, regrow, renew shape, and instead of crowning a few founders and
standardising everyone else, it gives people back their own sovereignty and counts that as the
yield. I have come to call the outcome of it kin-makers: the model does not take equity and hold
the leverage, it devolves value and belonging back to the people who come through it, so they
graduate into holding others rather than being held. Kinship is the product, not a by-product.
I would love to share the open version. It is built to be read at whatever depth you like: a single plain
line at the very top says the whole point, then a short spine you can skim in a couple of minutes,
with the detail one click underneath if you want it. If you only read the top, that is plenty.
There is no ask beyond your honest read, and your help thinking about how we secure the
sovereignty of it. Does it ring true? Does the shape make sense? And if a part of it does not, that
is what I most want to hear.
This open version is fine to share with a few others if you want to, but you are the one I am

Oh, I didn't see the news that the major oak had died. That is sad, indeed. 😢. I was lucky enough to visit it many years ago, and it still seemed vibrant and strong in my memory, so I'll keep it that way.

I'm visiting an awful lot of yew trees at the moment. I didn't realise quite how geologically interesting and old they were. Glad there's plenty more marvels to see while so many die and pass away from memory. 💚

I wish some of the nicer restaurants were open later (though Simpsons in the Strand is open till 11.30 on a Monday 🙏), but lots of the casual places are open later than New York now. No need to talk London down.
