“Rob Pelinka, your ass is on the clock. The Laker fanbase aint trying to hear nothing. They need to see action. He’s trying to get it right for 6 years. And I’m not giving him credit for the Luka trade, he fell into his lap.”
— Kendrick Perkins on ESPN 😳
@KingJames LeBron was a winner on and off the court, and Laker fans should appreciate his performance for the last 8 years. If LeBron goes home to Cleveland, it won’t matter if they win the World Championship or not because his hometown fans will get their opportunity to say their goodbyes to one of the greatest ever.
And who knows one day he may become Mayor of Cleveland !!
The worst part of today isn’t LeBron leaving the Lakers, it’s the "LeBron was never a Laker" or "now I can root for the Lakers" from people that claim to be Laker fans.
Get over yourself.
Alright y’all, I’m done for the night 😂 I’m finished writing my Lakers novels.
At this point, I done wrote a whole mini-series:
Chapter 1: LeBron’s Exit
Chapter 2: The Fall of the Lakers
Chapter 3: Luka Must Find His Alpha
But that’s what happens when you’re a real diehard Los Angeles Lakers fan.
I’m passionate about this franchise.
I respect greatness.
And I hold the Lakers to championship standards.
That’s why I get frustrated.
Because this franchise is supposed to be about excellence, banners, and winning championships—not excuses, dysfunction, and disappointment.
I just want my Lakers back.
The real Lakers.
The championship Lakers.
The purple and gold standard.
Alright… rant over 😂
Goodnight, Laker Nation. #Lakers
I’ll tell you one thing—Luka Dončić better find that alpha in him. Fast.
He better find that killer instinct.
He better find that dog.
He better find that leadership and pull it out of himself.
Because I do not have time for another weak, disappointing season from the Los Angeles Lakers.
I don’t.
At this point, I’m pissed.
I’m beyond frustrated.
I’m tired of excuses.
I’m tired of inconsistency.
And I’m tired of watching this franchise underachieve.
The Lakers standard is championships.
Not play-in talk.
Not moral victories.
Not “maybe next year.”
Championships.
So if Luka is the face of this franchise now, then it’s time.
No more hiding behind talent alone.
Talent is not enough.
Leadership matters.
Accountability matters.
Mental toughness matters.
The great ones demand excellence.
So Luka better tap into that alpha mentality and lead.
Because Laker Nation is tired.
And I know I’m not the only one feeling this way. #Lakers
Reading what Shams Charania said about LeBron James really hit me.
If LeBron is truly leaving because he was no longer happy with the Los Angeles Lakers… because he lost his joy… that says a lot.
And honestly? It showed.
There were a lot of nights watching LeBron where it felt like something was off.
The energy wasn’t the same.
The spark wasn’t the same.
He just didn’t look happy.
And that speaks to a bigger problem with this Lakers organization.
This is exactly why players don’t look at LA the same way anymore.
It’s crazy when you really think about it.
We’re talking about one of the biggest franchises in basketball—one of the biggest brands in sports, period.
And you’re telling me a player of LeBron’s caliber was unhappy to the point where he felt like he needed to leave to find peace and happiness somewhere else?
That’s sad.
Maybe he goes to a smaller market.
Maybe he goes somewhere with less pressure and less dysfunction.
Maybe he just wants to enjoy basketball again.
But if that’s really where things got to, then this franchise has serious problems.
Jeanie Buss and everyone involved in running this organization need to take a hard look in the mirror.
Because the Lakers standard used to be excellence.
Now it feels like dysfunction, instability, and disappointment.
And as a Lakers fan, that hurts to say. #Lakers
When LeBron James signed with the Los Angeles Lakers, it was the biggest story in basketball.
Now, him potentially leaving the Lakers has become the biggest story all over again.
That alone tells you how much weight LeBron carries.
But beyond LeBron, I’m just ready for this Lakers franchise to get back to championship-level basketball.
I’m ready for the days when players were lining up, eager to wear purple and gold.
And if we’re being honest, it really hasn’t felt like that since the Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant era.
Yes, after Shaq left, Kobe struggled for a little while because the front office had to figure things out and put the right pieces around him.
But once they got it right? Man… it was special.
That was Lakers basketball.
Ever since then, though, it feels like this franchise has been fighting to truly find itself again.
And honestly, since Dr. Buss passed, things just haven’t felt the same.
We need to get better as a franchise.
Period.
I’m competitive.
I’m passionate.
And I don’t play when it comes to my Lakers.
That’s why this is frustrating.
I’m tired of watching the Lakers become the laughingstock of the NBA.
This is the Lakers.
Championships are the standard—not dysfunction, not uncertainty, and definitely not mediocrity. #Lakers
At the end of the day, if LeBron James feels like his body can keep going, that’s his decision, and I respect that.
And this isn’t about Kobe Bryant or trying to make this a LeBron vs. Kobe debate. I’m simply giving my observation.
Kobe bowed out on his own terms.
He retired still being that dude.
Still respected.
Still an alpha.
Still a legend.
He wasn’t trying to jump to another team chasing ring number six to match Michael Jordan. He walked away the way he wanted to.
Maybe LeBron feels like leaving is the best move for him, and that’s his right.
But if I’m being real, I honestly feel like he should retire instead of leaving the Los Angeles Lakers for another team.
Because what if he leaves LA chasing one more championship… and still doesn’t get it?
Then what?
What was the reason?
You leave one of the biggest franchises in sports, spend your final years somewhere else chasing one more ring, and if it doesn’t happen… was it worth it?
That’s the question. #Lakers
My honest belief? If the Los Angeles Lakers had gone all the way this season and won a championship, I don’t think LeBron James would be leaving.
I truly believe he would’ve retired a Laker.
That’s why I think his decision to leave says a lot.
To me, it feels like LeBron is looking at this roster, looking at the future, and realizing he doesn’t see another championship coming out of LA anytime soon.
And at this stage of his career, he doesn’t have time to wait around.
He’s chasing one more ring.
I think he wants to go to a team where the foundation is already there—a team that gives him a real shot at winning another championship without having to carry such a heavy load night after night like he did this past season.
At this point in his career, that makes sense.
He’s still elite, but he’s also being realistic.
Could I be wrong? Sure.
But I don’t think I am. #Lakers
I’m not even going to lie—before LeBron James came to the Los Angeles Lakers, I couldn’t stand him.
I was never a LeBron fan.
But the moment he put on that purple and gold, something changed.
Over these last 8 seasons, I’ve grown to truly appreciate and respect him—not just as a basketball player, but as a man and as a leader.
So with all this news about him deciding to leave… I’m still going to respect him. I’m still going to appreciate everything he gave to this franchise. I’m not about to disrespect that man because he made a decision that he felt was best for him.
That was his decision.
And he gave the Lakers 8 seasons.
But I’m also not going to lie and pretend this doesn’t sting a little.
We just got over losing Anthony Davis, and now this?
Yes, Luka Dončić has been huge for us and brings a lot to the table. But losing LeBron to another team hits different.
Because this isn’t retirement.
If he walks away from the Lakers to go suit up somewhere else… yeah, that hurts.
As a Lakers fan, that stings. Maybe more than I expected. #Lakers
It’s really sad that the Los Angeles Lakers can never seem to hold on to greatness.
I get it—LeBron James gave this team 8 seasons. But 8 seasons and only 1 championship? That’s disappointing for a franchise built on banners.
And let’s be honest—players don’t seem to be lining up to come to LA like they used to, and that’s a problem.
Yes, Luka Dončić is a problem on the court. His talent is undeniable. But the real question is: does he truly have leadership skills?
Can Luka put a team on his back and lead like LeBron did? Like Kobe Bryant did?
Can he demand greatness?
Can he hold people accountable?
Can he be the alpha this team desperately needs?
Because talent alone doesn’t win championships. Leadership does.
Luka is special, but he’s still immature in a lot of ways. And until he fully grows into that leadership role, I’ve got questions.
Buckle up, Laker fans. This upcoming season might be a rough one. #Lakers
No, THANK YOU! Truly a honor to wear the 💜💛 while trying to continuing the greatness & legacies that came before me! Hope I made a few proud during my stint. 🙏🏾🫡👑
The Los Angeles Lakers got a serious problem—they lost their alpha.
When Kobe Bryant retired, the alpha left. Then LeBron James came in and took over that role immediately. Love him or hate him, he was the alpha in that locker room.
Now the Lakers are back to square one.
And let’s call it what it is—this roster is full of betas. No true alpha. No dog. No killer. No enforcer. No one demanding greatness.
A bunch of talented pieces, but no head of the snake. No identity. No real leader.
Championship teams need an alpha.
Until the Lakers find another alpha, they’re not winning anything meaningful.
