Three people have been confirmed dead, after a Beechcraft King Air 350i with the Mexican Navy crashed earlier today into Galveston Bay in Southeastern Texas while on approach in heavy fog to Scholes International Airport. The King Air, which had taken off from Merida on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico this morning, was on a medical support mission and was carrying a pediatric patient who required specialized burn care provided at Shriners Children’s in Galveston. Eight passengers and crew were onboard the aircraft at the time of the crash, with three transported to hospital by ambulance and three dead, according to reports by the U.S. Coast Guard.
