The Kingsmen - Louie Louie
One of the truly great rock βnβ roll songs. Basic, indecipherable and performed by a band looking like Bel Air bellhops. Yet, if Iβd to listen to one song forever; itβd very possibly be this.
1963.

@Lord_Steerforth What amazed me was that she turned up at his door for this interview with a half-drunk can of Diet Coke in her hand, which then got spilt on his carpets. You'd think it could have been jettisoned before arrival.

@davidhepworth Been looking for this Sunday Times magazine article for years. I always thought Jimi Hendrix was included in the original subjects. Jagger appeared on the cover again in 1977 with a different hairdo.
Found an old Private Eye from 18 July 1969.
Page 7 contains their spoof review of the Stones Hyde Park gig of 5th July, a poem and this Brian Jones cartoon.

@looksunfamiliar The Sky Casket radio. Not the greatest of names in retrospect. Radio Luxembourg, the Teen and Twenty Disc Club, hoping to hear member no. 11321. Those were the days when you could take something apart to see how it worked.
