@lwcollazo @extraspace SunnyC, in most states dramatic price increases are NOT legal. Please find your district attorney's website. Probably you can file an online or printable form about price gouging to help protect yourself & other renters. If more had done this, we wouldn't be in this position.
@kirkmouse@extraspace Kirk, do you lack a sense of duty to other Americans? I will continue to discuss with attorneys. I will continue to tell other potential customers. We need to hold Extra Space accountable. When we simply leave, they raise prices for the next renter.
@extraspace Super naughty? Is Extra Space Storage breaking the law? If not, why won't you explain? Consumers can write to the Extra Space Storage CEO Joseph Margolis at [email protected]. #pricegouging#law#storage
@Grifter801@extraspace Grifter, in which state do you rent? The 73 percent rent increase by #ExtraSpaceStorage could be a mistake, considering the penal codes. Extra Space wouldn't violate the law, right? California Penal Code Section 396, for example, prohibits price gouging.
@extraspace That's great that you'd love to look into this. For the financial security of myself & other Americans in 36 states with price protections, I need you to indicate whether your 33 percent storage rate increase notice is A MISTAKE or normal for Extra Space Storage. Thanks so much.
@extraspace Generic info is applicable, thanks. My Extra Space Storage rental is in the San Francisco Bay area, in a county that's protected against price gouging. Given that information, would it be intentional or A MISTAKE for Extra Space Storage to raise my rent by 33 percent?
